Shooting is Lane's most attention grabbing skillset, but it's not his best; his adaptability is. He shot the trey ball as well as anyone, but what separated him was that he remained a positive contributor even when the jumper went cold. Lane crashed the boards on offense and picked off passes on defense to get the ball back to the Wildcats. Same when his teammates had better matchups or were hot; he kept the offense flowing with his ball movement and found other ways to impact winning.

A relatively unknown player going into his senior season, opponents got rude wakeup calls when they prepared for the Hornets but didn't account for McLendon. He devastated offenses with his unrelenting ball-pressure; and even against the best teams, he – at the very least – made sure they had an off-night. Scoring out of necessity in the halfcourt, the turnovers that forced generated the bulk of his offensive output. Otherwise, McLendon's competitive drive was the only fuel he needed.

A few buckets shy of 20 pts/g, Starr developed from a riverboat gambler to a calculated risk-taker for the Red Wolves. He hunted for shots at the rim and from deep, all within the rhythm of the offense. And, whether it was a spot-up three or a side-stepped, his shot-making ability commanded the defense's respect wherever he fired from. The thing that made the difference as a senior was his capacity to make cool-headed decisions off the dribble. Depending on where the help came from, Starr would maneuver around the defender, hit a cutter, or kick to another shooter. And when the Red Wolves needed some magic to happen on defense, there he was getting a stop or shooting the gap.

After scoring just 96 points as a reserve for the Jaguars during his junior year, Harvey tripled that as a senior and made them one of the surprise teams in the state. He proved to be one of the best three-point shooters off the catch, knocking down two every game, but dialing it up to three or four in their tougher matchups. Far from a one-dimensional player, Harvey's marksmanship was tempered by his ability to stabilize the team as an on-ball decision-maker and his willingness get off the ball when he didn't have a good look.

Given how statistically productive he was as a junior, many in New Castle County were familiar with Robertson. But he reintroduced himself to the basketball world by adding polish to repertoire and streamlining his approach. With pace off-the-catch and his ability to absorb contact, he became an efficient scorer. If the defense took away his three-ball, Robertson could slice into the lane for a 1-2 dribble pull-up or get the lay by playing off of two feet in the paint. His willingness to be an off-ball scorer allowed him and the rest of the team to flourish.
