The conclusion of the 2025-26 regular season is nearly upon us. We're now in the final week of action before district tournaments start next week. There's plenty of basketball left to the be played and many districts are coming down to the wire. Here is how every District in Class 4A looks right now.

District 4A-1: Gallup (17-7, 7-1) controls its own destiny in this district as the Bengals lead Bloomfield by one game by virtue of their win over the Bobcats last week. Gallup can clinch at least a share of the district regular season title Wednesday when they travel to third-place Shiprock. Most likely, Gallup and Bloomfield are the only two teams from this district with a chance to compete in the state tournament.

District 4A-2: Taos (20-4, 6-0) has a two-game lead in the district standings ahead of Pojoaque Valley (11-13, 4-2). Every team in the district is below .500 in overall record except for Taos. If the Tigers win the district tournament as well, they'll likely be the lone team from this district to play in the state tournament. Traditional power Espanola Valley has had a difficult season.

District 4A-3: In this four-team district, Silver (14-11) and Deming are deadlocked atop the standings with identical 4-1 records. The tie was created when Deming beat Silver last week. The Colts could get an at-large bid without winning the district tournament, but Deming (6-19 overall) likely needs to win it to get into the state tournament.

District 4A-4: Defending state champion Artesia (19-5, 4-1) hosted Goddard Tuesday night with the chance to claim the outright regular season district title. Portales (13-12, 3-2) stunned Artesia in early February with a half-court heave at the buzzer. But the Bulldogs got revenge 10 days later with a 17-point victory at home.

District 4A-5: Highland (20-4, 6-0) has a commanding two-game lead over Belen (14-10, 4-2) in the district standings. Every other team has at least four district losses. Highland hasn't lost since Jan. 10 and carried a 14-game winning streak into Tuesday night's home game against Valencia. The Hornets are a proud program and know how to win. They're a legitimate contender for the 4A crown in March.

District 4A-6: Hope Christian (18-6, 7-0) hasn't lost in district play and holds the edge. But surging Del Norte (15-9, 5-1) has an opportunity to force a tie in the final district standings with victories over Valley Tuesday and Hope Christian Friday. The Knights and Huskies have already met three times this season with a margin of victory of five points or less in every game. In fact, the last matchup went to overtime. So, Friday's regular season finale should be a thriller.
