While we pride ourselves in our class rankings in Virginia, it's simply impossible to rank every single player and sometimes we miss some. With that being said, here's a look at six seniors who are making us look dumb for leaving them out of the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2857979' first='Tavare' last='Terrell'] | 5'11” PG | Caroline

Terrell is having a breakout senior season at Caroline, where he's putting on a show with his big scoring numbers and highlight reel worthy plays as a sub 6'0” guard with explosive athleticism. He's must see TV when he gets out in the open floor where he can finish above the rim effortlessly, he is a very good shooter from deep who can come off screens and knock it down constantly, he can work in isolation and ball screens to get in the paint to break down defenders, and he's a very good defender who can sit down and guard the ball or jump passing lanes to get easy buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2148856' first='Axel' last='Iturbe'] | 6'4” SF | STAB

Iturbe may have been under the radar coming into the season, but that quickly changed as he became one of STAB's top options and has been putting up consistent numbers throughout the year. The 6'4” wing and Case Western Reserve commit is a big time athlete who can get out in transition and play above the rim, he's a physical wing who can bang in the paint and brings physicality on the defensive end of the floor, and he's a knock down shooter from deep with good range as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2828442' first='Colton' last='Ward'] | 6'8” PF | Nelson County

Ward has been one of the more improved players in the Central Virginia area, and couple that with his size at 6'8” he caught the eyes of college coaches and recently committed to Roanoke College. He's able to impact the game across the board as he's a good rebounder and shot blocker, he is a mismatch offensively with his ability to stretch the floor from deep and also back down defenders and finish in the paint, and he still has a lot of room to improve as he continues to grow into his body and develop at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2881508' first='Steele' last='Torrence'] | 5'10” PG | Hidden Valley

Torrence has quietly been one of the best guards in the Roanoke area, and recently broke the all-time assist record at Hidden Valley this season. The 5'10” guard just knows the ins-and-outs of the game to a “t,” he is great pushing in transition and making the simple reads for easy baskets, he works well in the pick-and-roll and does a good job using his eyes to read off defenders, and his ability to keep defenses honest with his scoring allows him to set up others for easy buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='3266337' first='Kenton' last='Sutphin'] | 5'7” PG | Fort Chiswell

Don't let the size fool you, Suthpin has been one of the top guards in the SWVA area over the past few years, and he's having a great senior season for a talented team looking to make a push in March. While he's only 5'7” he has great command of the game as he takes care of the ball and controls the tempo, he picks his spots and scores it efficiently from deep and in the midrange with floaters and pull-ups, and he is one of the toughest players you will come across with his relentless motor defensively and willingness to sacrifice his body.

[player_tooltip player_id='2909585' first='Joshua' last='Kyle Hunt'] | 6'5” PF | Grundy

While Hunt may be undersized for his position, he has really impressed this season with his consistent play on both ends of the floor as one of the top big men in SWVA. The 6'5” forward is a load in the paint who has good hands and soft touch around the rim, he challenges shots well without fouling and deters guards from driving down the lane with his size, and he's the type of player who understands his role and thrives in staying within it.

Taron Atwood | 6'0” PG | Nansemond River

Atwood is having a monster senior season for Nansemond River, leading them in scoring and leading them to be a dark horse candidate as the playoffs approach. The 6'0” lead guard is a walking bucket who can get where he wants to and make shots from all over the floor, he puts constant pressure on the rim and finishes well through contact, he can work off the ball and knock it down from deep, and he's a relentless defender who can turn defense into offense with his ball hawking skills.
