The Prep Hoops Power Rankings for the week of January 18–24 are officially out, and with postseason play looming, separation is starting to show. These teams aren't just winning games they are establishing identities, stacking quality wins, and positioning themselves for a run to Birmingham. Guard play, depth, toughness, and belief are beginning to matter more than raw talent. Here's a closer look at the Top 10, what's driving their success, and answer to the question can they make it to Birmingham...

#1 Dothan (22-3) 7A Area 3

Dothan is a team that has tremendous guard play, which is a must for a team looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. They appear to be in a groove going down the stretch despite losing to Enterprise 60-49 the other night (1/20). In a game where Enterprise jumped out to an early 18-3 lead, Dothan couldn't get over the hump. Dothan has also been dealing with the sickness bug as several players in the last two weeks have been out. So, as the Wolves try to get healthy, they are in an extremely tough area, in which it will be a dog-fight getting out. Deijah Coleman (5'11/CG/'26/Dothan) continues to be the leader of this squad, and his play will be critical as Dothan seeks to get to Birmingham.

Other key contributors include:

[player_tooltip player_id='2748275' first='Jordan' last='Rollins'] (6'1/PG/'28/Dothan) is an emerging backcourt talent who is maturing and showing his ability to balance scoring and facilitating.

Everett Welch (6'5/Wing/'27/Dothan) is emerging into a threat from deep and is helping to keep the floor spaced with his ability to knock down the three.

Who's Next:

Dothan will host JAG on 1/23.

#2 Gadsden City (24-2) 6A Area 14

Gadsden City is a team that many have already penciled in a spot in Birmingham. They have been a dominant force throughout the season, and they are loaded with weapons that can hurt opponents in a variety of ways. They are coming off a 67-59 victory over Fort Payne. Jakobi Sharp (6'3/Wing/'26/Gadsden City) continues to elevate his play and be the driving force behind the Titans' success. He will need to continue his impactful guard play and high-level production going down the stretch for a deep playoff run.

Other key contributors include:

[player_tooltip player_id='2286872' first='Trayvon' last='Pannell'] (6'2/PG/'28/Gadsden City)

IG: 1ce1ray

X: @TrayvonPannell5

Trayvon is a young and talented guard who can play on and off the ball. They took down Ardmore 76-29 earlier this week. [player_tooltip player_id='2472342' first='Coleby' last='Davis'] (6'3/SG/'27/East Limestone) has been a consistent source of production on the offensive end of the floor and will need to be at the top of his game to carry East Limestone to Birmingham.

Other key contributors include:

Chris Fitts (6'3/F/East Limestone)

Chris is an interior presence who plays with force and uses his athleticism to impact both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='3070716' first='Charlie' last='Eslick'] (6'5/PF/'26/East Limestone)

IG: C.eslick2

Charlie is a skilled forward with positional size and playmaking ability, and has proven to be a match-up problem for many this season.

Who's Next:

East Limestone will take a trip to Decatur on 1/29

#5 Springville (20-3) 5A Area 12

Springville is a gritty team that plays with passion and as a unit. They lost to Guntersville 78-72 earlier this week, but the loss does not change the optimism surrounding this squad. Lucas Scroggins (5'10/SG/'26/Springville) has been a reliable scoring option for the Tigers the entire year. The only problem is that they are probably in the toughest area and region in Class 7A. They are coming off a loss to Huntsville 64-53 on 1/20. [player_tooltip player_id='2639350' first='Keandre' last='Yancey'] (6'6/C/'26/Albertville) is the driving force of this squad, and he has been playing exceptionally well, as coaches at the next level are taking notice, evident in the offers he has received from the next level.
