SANTA ANA — The 31st Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei high school featured 14 games over two days, highlighting some of the top teams from California, Arizona and Nevada. We were in the building for all nine games Saturday and below are the top X wing, forward and center performances.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490283' first='Amare' last='Oba'] | 2026 | Coronado (NV)

Oba's combination of quick twitch vertical athleticism and ability to put the ball on the deck and drive by opponents made him a mismatch nightmare for Mater Dei. The Cougars upset the Monarchs on their home floor as the 6-7 wing forward scored 32 points on 12-for-22 from the field and grabbed six rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436266' first='Chris' last='Sanders'] | 2027 | Redondo Union

There was no answer for Sanders' strength, mobility and physicality as the 6-foot-4 sophomore bullied his way to the rim in a variety of ways en route to 22 points on 9-for-9 from the field, with 12 rebounds and five assists in a win over Foothill. Sanders is one of the most difficult prospects to contain at the high school level, especially when he gets a step downhill to his left hand.

DeVaughn Durrough | 2028 | Coronado (NV)

Durrough's numbers came easy to him as Mater Dei was forced to put a smaller, less physical defender on him throughout the game and the 6-foot-7 forward took full advantage of it. Durrough got easy looks at the rim out of screen/roll, transition and offensive rebound opportunities and finished with 14 points on 7-for-9 from the field with eight rebounds in a win over the Monarchs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2779860' first='Jake' last='Schutt'] | 2026 | Servite

Schutt was all over the court - and the box score - with his constant energy, effort and hustle. The senior is an big time glue guy for the Friars with his willingness to get on the floor for loose balls, defend a variety of positions despite facing size mismatches at times and he makes extra effort plays on the glass. Schutt's motor led to him scoring 14 points and grabbing 15 rebounds - including six offensive boards - in a win over Los Alamitos.

Logan Dugdale | 2026 | Mira Costa

The 6-foot-6 forward was clutch in multiple areas Saturday as his activity on the boards and high percentage finishes led to him scoring 19 points on 9-for-13 from the field with seven rebounds in a double overtime win over St. Bernard. Dugdale hit the game-deciding layup on a baseline out of bounds play with 0.9 seconds to play. The senior showed great touch and savvy in the painted area.

Zain Majeed | 2027 | Mater Dei

Majeed is a highly-skilled four-man whose ability to stretch the floor to the three-point line off the catch and smart off-ball cutting allow him to have an inside-out scoring impact. The 6-foot-7 junior is also effective in ball screen and pop situations where his footwork and high release point allow him to create space from defenders for clean looks. Majeed scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists in a loss to Coronado.
