Juniors to Know MIAA

The players below from the class of 2027 in MIAA are either the leading scorers at times for their teams or impactful. These players can relieve the pressure off their teammates in a big way. They most likely will be captains as well next year for their high school. He has good footwork to get his shots off helping him make field goals, such as coming off screens catch/shot situations/side stepping defenders after an up fake from deep and catching on the move into a hesi mid-range. On the other side of the ball he anticipates the pass well helping to deflect the ball. He does a nice job contesting shots without fouling. In his senior year he will be in contention for league All-Star if not this season. He might even have a chance at league MVP. A three sport athlete on the baseball and football field as well. He is a facilitator with good interior/perimeter passes but can score a couple baskets even getting double digits points in one game I saw. He can split the defense/gaps to force help defense to come over but then allowing him to get easy assists. He is a slasher but can take his guy off the dribble from deep. He had a nasty spin move layup late in the game. Kingston can shoot off the catch and the dribble from college range. He embarrases on the ball defenders at times creating separation. He does a nice job with on the ball defense as he tries to speed the dribbler up. He will be in contention for league All-Star this year and next but MVP consideration next year. A kid who can play D3 in college and has upside. I would love to coach him. He can be a Top option in Acton-Boxborough's offense but doesn't have to be. He lived off the mid-range game but he has the tools to stretch the floor more. He plays off two feet and can square his shoulders up when elevating to get the shot off. He made some nice cuts to the hoop for easy buckets but sets the defender up nicely to get him off balance before hand. Jordan has good footwork to go along with his handles. A high IQ player who will be a captain next year, league all-star considerations now/next. Only a Junior so he will get his fair share of points. I predict in his senior year he will be a double double player as a captain. He made some nice passes even though it didn't always lead to an assist, he kept the ball moving nicely for higher percentage shots creating good fluidity in the offense. Shane is a good defender, working hard to create chaos. He tallied a couple of steals but made passes extra hard. I was impressed with his ability to wall up Foxboro's big and continued moving his feet playing as big as he could given up a ton of size. He has been high scorer for Attleboro at times but more like the 3rd/4th option for them. He made some contested shots tonight against Arlington. One was a catch/shoot 3, off the dribble mid-range in the right slot, a runner and a couple high rips for layups. He put pressure on Arlington's defense with plenty of paint touches going along with team high 5 assists. Taking a look on the other side he made a good decision to double and strip the ball in the low post. In the 4th quarter guarded Arlington's lead scorer making things difficult for him. Jerry has college range, but finishes in multiple ways. Gets shots off quick especially his mid-range wing made field goal off the catch. He is a very great interior passer. When he gets paint touches he has a high IQ avoiding double teams/help defense kicking the ball to teammates for dimes. He uses his frame well fitting through tight spaces or getting defenders off balance. Defensively effects the passer/ball handler with his constant pressure. Jerry will be league all-star this year/next and maybe even league MVP this season/next. D3 coaches have to check this kid out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
