This season has produced a wealth of talented hoopers in the greater Houston area to keep an eye on. Several players are making their mark as the fight near the top of district intensifies and teams fight for position. The upperclassmen have been fun to watch as the leaders on their respective squads and here are some who have made their way onto my radar this season so far!

[player_tooltip player_id='2252017' first='Damarcus' last='Sloan'] was on fire from the three-point line against Humble in a 69-64 victory in road territory. Sloan buried 4 threes over the course of the game but showed he can also score from all three levels as well. Damarcus has good speed in transition and shows patience and high IQ when creating for himself and teammates. Sloan has been one of the most consistent performers all year for North Shore and has come through game after game in district play. His fundamental perimeter defense causes turnovers and allows the Mustangs to capitalize on momentum-changing opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='2430505' first='Aaron' last='Hennigan'] helped to anchor the Hargrave Falcons in their home win over Tarkington with 10 points and 14 rebounds. His relentless motor on the glass was a big help for his team to keep the momentum all game, and he is good at stopping opponents from getting easy buckets in the paint. He capitalized on several trips to the foul line and was effective finishing ahead of the pack in the paint. Look for Aaron to make some noise this year as an unsigned senior!

Trey was a masterful orchestrator on the offensive end in a district rivalry win over Willis. Pinkard poured in 24 points and hit 7 three pointers to help the Grizzlies maintain a double-digit lead during the contest and get defensive stops. Trey always has great court awareness to know where his teammates are and makes the right reads with the ball in his hands. Ever since this summer, Trey has been on a tear and continues his momentum-boosting play helping Grand Oaks into first place for their district.

[player_tooltip player_id='2555034' first='Cameron' last='Ned'] has been one of the main supporting cast players for the Atascocita Eagles as they maintain first in district heading towards the end of the year. He had 18 points and 6 rebounds against GCM, showcasing his versatility as a multi-tool hooper and then proceeded to have another huge showing against Channelview with a 23 point, 5 rebound, and 6 assist stat line. Ned is a true hustle player and is willing to put his body on the line for loose balls, as well as do anything this team needs him to do on the floor.
