PICTURED: Beech team

Friday night several Hendersonville/Gallatin teams competed. Earned his way to the free throw line. Split the pair. Excellent touch around the rim, as per usual. Elite high school rebounding. The way Cutter finished the third quarter was the stuff a playground legend. He dribbled backwards while rotating both directions until finally lofting a very, very tough banked mid-range shot to success all while absorbing a hard foul.

1/9/26: A potential District MVP [player_tooltip player_id='2118369' first='Connor' last='Arrington'] was not on his game in the first half...not at all. Beech was bumping him off his routes and paths. The Bison run plays for Arrington, but they did not work like usual. Some of the credit goes to Beech's defenders. Midway through the third Connor hit a beautiful wing three-pointer from a kicked-out pass. [player_tooltip player_id='2118369' first='Connor' last='Arrington'] finished with 7 points and his team really needed more tonight.

1/9/26: Finished with 14 points to lead Bison. Davon is much more active and quick than he was way back when as a PrepHoopsTN Combine participant. He operated largely as a 2-guard against Lebanon and his whole team struggled to penetrate with the pass. Day's on-ball defense was ok. Not good, not bad. He was more effective as a defender when Gallatin ran zone. The shot was not falling for the senior much of the night.

1/9/26: Gallatin has a hidden gem in [player_tooltip player_id='3337389' first='Braylon' last='Boone']. Gallatin started the freshman!

1/9/26: Kind of a flat-footed big, Thomas was tasked with a ton of low-post defensive responsibilities. Ogelsby showed that he is unafraid of contact and this is encouraging going forward. Bizarrely, Gallatin picked Ogelsby to take a pair of technical free throws. Generally, more veteran players are given the unique task. Oglesby did make them both. Feisty. He fought rebounding battles. Though he did not win many, he was in the fight. Oglesby can finish if he gets his defender on his backside as he uses his body well to create separation.
