One of the biggest players in the 2027 class, Zaire is a load to handle on the block. With the ability to overpower players in the post, Zaire is a force in the paint. If Zaire can improve his conditioning and continue to develop confidence with the ball in his hands, he'll be one of the most productive bigs in the Columbus City League on a Northland team that's looking to continue their dominance in the city league.

Another player coming from a dominant program, Arbogast is finally ready to contribute for the 3-0 Eagles and got the start in a 10-point win over Fairview. Arbogast has the size, athleticism and length to be an impact rebounder and finisher in the paint. Showing some offensive flashes on the Prep Hoops Circuit with the Ohio Saints this summer, things are starting to click for Arbogast at the right time. A name I expect to continue to build momentum if he continues to play hard and produce for Saint Edward.

A player who got on my radar from the Prep Hoops Expo in the fall, Gast is a high IQ forward who wants to play around the rim. Gast showed off his passing ability from the post and knew where to be off the ball as a cutter, screen setter and help-side defender. Gast earned an invite to the Toledo Top 64 in the Fall as well and has helped Anthony Wayne to a 1-1 start on the young season.

One of the new players I've discovered in the first couple weeks of the season, Clemens is definitely a talented football prospect after leading CJ in tackles, TFL's and Sacks on the gridiron, but he's also got some real ability on the hardwood as well. A physical forward who can space out and attack in a straight line off the dribble, Clemens is a versatile forward who can also space out and knock down an open 3-pointer. Currently averaging 11 points and 7 rebounds a game for the Eagles, he should have a chance to find his way onto a GCL-Coed all-conference team at the end of the season.

Another name who was discovered at the Prep Hoops Expo, Nathan makes his debut in our rankings after standing out at our showcase. A prospect who averaged 7.9 points and 3.6 rebounds a game as a sophomore, that rebounding ability is what stood out the most to me when watching him at the Prep Hoops Expo. A player who attacks the basketball, Nathan doesn't wait for the ball to come to him. Add in the ability to finish with either hand at the rim and Nathan has some skills that immediately catch your eye. Hoping to see him continue to develop a perimeter based game with ball handling and perimeter shooting as well as a spike from 1 assist per game as a sophomore. A potential breakout name in central Ohio, keep your eyes out for Nathan this year.

A starter on the state runners-up in Division VI as just a sophomore, Ahrens is a forward who plays patient with the ball in his hands and wants to use his physicality to his advantage. Ahrens contributes for the Flyers on both the hardwood and the gridiron and that comes through with his style of play in the paint. Overall as a conference the MAC is a rugged and grind it out style of league and Ahrens fits that brand of basketball. After Marion Local came up short in the state title, there's a few teams in the league this season hoping to find better luck at UD Arena when it's all said and done.
