Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of standouts who caught our eye from watching the River Bend Classic, which was held at New Madrid Central.

[player_tooltip player_id='2536477' first='Gary' last='Johnson'] (St. Mary's): The 6'4" 2026 forward brought his explosive athleticism to the boot heel as he put on a dunking show in the victory over Caruthersville. On the first two plays of the game, he threw down consecutive alley-oop dunks off a play from the opening tip and after a steal in the backcourt. He dominated the game with his scoring and offensive rebounding as he scored a game-high 23 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2836966' first='Kyren' last='Evans'] (Lutheran North): A 6'0" 2027 guard who had 22 points and nine rebounds in the Crusaders' victory over host New Madrid Central. He was excellent on the pick and roll as he could turn the corner and get downhill on the drive. He is an aggresive slasher. He also made multiple 3-pointers to compliment his ability to penetrate. He was disruptive on defense with his on-ball pressure. It was very tone-setting for the rest of his team.

Anthony Vaughn (West Memphis): A 6'5" 2026 forward from Arkansas who had a big game in a victory over Charleston with 22 points and 14 rebounds. He is a dynamic athlete who threw down a number of slam dunks during the game. He was also scoring in the paint, rebounding and blocking shots. He also displayed a nice shooting touch when he hit a Corner 3-pointer in the first half.

[player_tooltip player_id='2388339' first='Treshaun' last='Schandon'] (Charleston): A thick-bodied 6'0" 2027 guard who scored 12 points against West Memphis. The young lefty plays at his own pace and he gets to where he wants to go on the court. He is very shifty and he can operate in the lane with crafty footwork. He uses his body to create contact when he's on the drive and he can hit a high-arching 3-pointer from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334951' first='Xavier' last='Clark'] (St. Mary's): The 6'0" 2027 guard scored 14 points in the victory over Caruthersville. He is a high-energy player who just plays in constant motion. He gets to the rim on the attack and he also has a nice float game in the lane. He also hit a Corner 3-pointer.

Jace Bateman (Lutheran North): A 6'6" 2028 forward who has excellent length and shot blocking ability. His timing was excellent as he could get swats on layups and perimeter jumpers. He also ran the court well and he threw down a few alley-oop slam dunks. He is very young and he is just starting to tap into the potential as a player.

[player_tooltip player_id='2698423' first='Jayden' last='Williams'] (New Madrid Central): A 5'10" 2028 point guard who is one of the bright young prospects in the SEMO area. He has good quickness, solid handles and a very effective pull up jumper on the move. When he beats pressure, he was able to weave in and out of traffic to get to the basket to create for himself and his teammates.

Solomon Reed (Lutheran North): A 6'4" 2027 forward who scored 10 points in the victory over New Madrid Central. He can cause matchup problems as he can score in the post with his strength and with a nice finesse move, like his spin dribble in the lane for a bucket. He was also taking bigger defenders off the dribble to score on the drive. He also pulled up and hit a 15 footer off the backboard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2959726' first='Ronnell' last='Johnson'] (St. Mary's): A 5'11" 2027 point guard who came off the bench to score 10 points against Caruthersville. He showed a smooth shooting stroke as he hit a pair of 3-pointers. He hit one triple off the high ball screen as he ran the pick and roll very effectively.

Shilyn Henderson (Charleston): A 5'11" 2028 guard who scored 11 points against West Memphis. He has quickness and he's very shifty on the dribble as he can change speeds and freeze defenders with a nice hesitation move. His crossover move was also excellent as he was able to get to the rim to get a bucket.
