Prep Hoops Missouri ventured into the bootheel area to take a look at the action from the SEMO Conference Tournament. We had a chance to watch two very competitive games in the semifinals. In the first game, Dexter edged Cape Girardeau Central 44-42. In the second game, perennial SEMO area power Sikeston defeated Jackson 55-47. We also got a chance to watch the consolation bracket game between Cape Notre Dame and Poplar Bluff. Notre Dame came away with a 61-56 victory. Here is a look at some of the top guards and wings that caught our eye at the SEMO Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1789998' first='Marquel' last='Murray'] (Sikeston): The 6'3" 2026 guard scored a team-high 14 points in the victory over Jackson. The ultra-athletic guard showcased his explosiveness throughout the evening with slashing moves to the basket and three blocked shots that were loud. He also knocked down a pair of 15 footers off the bounce where he got very good elevation. His turnaround jumpers were also entertaining to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2573853' first='Shaun' last='Cole Jr']. (Sikeston): The 6'0” 2028 guard came off the bench to provide instant offense with 10 points in the victory over Jackson. He is a potent offensive player with a smooth-looking 3-point shot and an offensive bag. He hit three 3-pointers, including one in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory. He also showcased some quick hands on defense as he picked three pockets in the open court for steals. He is a rising young talent in the SEMO area.

Jaidyn Johnson (Cape Central): A 6'0 2027 guard who had some impressive moments against Dexter, especially in the second half. He jump-started a struggling Cape Central offense with a pair of high arching 3-pointers. He was effective at getting two feet in the lane on the jump stop. He also used his length on the defensive end when he provided some good pressure.

John Supulvado (Dexter): A 6'3 2026 guard who plays with a tremendous amount of energy. I like his constant motion and the way he looks to push tempo. He has a quick first step and he really probes for open driving lanes. He finished with eight points in the semifinals.

Kobe James (Sikeston): The 5'10" 2026 point guard scored 12 points for the Bulldogs. He's very quick and he really keeps defenders off balance with his ability to change speeds and directions. He started to get busy in the second half. He hit a big side-step 3-pointer in the third quarter. He is also strong enough to score in the paint despite being one of smallest players on the court.

Kyle Nichols (Dexter): A 6'3" 2029 guard who is one of the most impressive freshmen players in the SEMO area. The young lefty used his height to his advantage to get into the lane and shoot over smaller defenders. He grabbed defensive rebounds and went coast to coast and he was coming off screens to hit 3-pointers. He has a bright future at Dexter.

Braedyn Robert (Cape Notre Dame): A 2028 wing player who enters the game and immediately makes things happen with his high motor and tenacity. His first two touches were a layup off of his cut and a steal in a transition layup. He was scoring on tough takes in the lane. He finished with 20 points in the win over Poplar Bluff.

Ben James (Sikeston): A 5'10" 2026 guard who scored eight points and also played a strong overall floor game. He is a coach's son and he plays like it with his solid play and good decision making. He is a sound ball handler who also passes it very well with both hands and a variety of angles. He also hit a big 3-pointer at the end of the first half to give Sikeston an eight-point lead.

Ty Forrest (Jackson): A 6'1" 2026 guard who came off the bench to score 11 points. He was very active and he was getting his points in a variety of ways. He scored in the lane where he used the pump fake very well in traffic. He also had a nice float game and he hit a late 3-pointer to help the Indians stay close in the final stages of the game.

Cole Adams (Cape Notre Dame): A 6'3 2028 guard who is an impressive perimeter shooter. He was making shots in transition and also in the halfcourt offense coming off screens with his movement. He was also very active on the full court press.
