HoopState Hoopsgiving: 2029 Notables

There was a lot of talent on display from all over North Carolina with a couple out of state guests coming in as well. He's probably about 6'8" now and can comfortably operate in multiple areas on the floor. He's not a true big, definitely more of a tweener, can operate from the elbow and even make shots out to the three point line. Cole is a fluid athlete, running and dunking in traffic with regularity. Cole is a versatile defender that can really disrupt the opposition in multiple ways. He's a more comfortable outside shooter than ever before to go with his ability to work inside with his physicality and athleticism. He's really active on both backboards which is probably what is earning him his minutes right now. He can be a real bruiser and guard bigger forwards/centers because of his strength. He has come into a state championship situation and provided an immediate impact as a freshman. He is 100% bought into his role as an off the bench spark and he is ready for the challenge. He's a confident outside shooter, an active rebounder, and is showing flashes as a creator that will only reveal itself more in time. He is a confident self creator with really advanced footwork to find his own jumper in the mid range. Still growing into his body, Hargett remains fearless when slashing, he'll be able to absorb contact better as he continues to physically develop. He does a nice job helping orchestrate the half-court offense that Heritage runs. Hargett also really competes defensively, as that strength continues to build, he will only get better and better there. McDonald is extremely aggressive off the bounce as he's super difficult to contain 1v1. He can really be a disruptor defensively with his quick hands and feet, allowing him to use that end to end speed turning defense into offense. McDonald showed some nice touch on his floater in the middle of the floor and on the baseline, a reliable weapon for smaller guards.
