Thanksgiving week I attended four tournaments for exactly 25 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were Phoenix Union Coyote Classic at Central and Deer Valley for 2 days, Fear The Hop Tournament at Mesa HS, Ben Franklin Thanksgiving Classic at Ben Franklin and Gilbert Christian and lastly the LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC.

Here were some Newcomer PG/CG's

[player_tooltip player_id='2559485' first='Landon' last='Lazenby'] Cesar Chavez (Pictured)

An undersized guard is a bucket. He has a strong and stocky frame to get to the basket to score and he will shoot it from mid to the three point line. He has quick hands on defense and will close out to shooters with high effort. He scored 21 points (17 in the 1st half).

[player_tooltip player_id='3018506' first='Jaeden' last='Imbesi-Jenkins'] Desert Ridge

A scoring point guard is very fast to the basket and will cut off the ball for easy buckets inside. He is super aggressive in the passing lanes to pester his opponents and collect steals which can lead to layups on the other end. He will pull-up from mid to the three point line and gets hot quickly. He brings some swag to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='3148576' first='Julius' last='Williams'] Westview

A very fast scoring point guard. He is undersized but has next level speed to get to his spots and will score with threes, side step jumpers, dribble drives and will jump up. When he is firing away from deep, the Knights are a tough out. He scored 10+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3148572' first='Alejandro' last='Contreras'] Tolleson

A real point guard with advanced court vision thru the lane. He will slither passes in tiny spaces with next level feel. He will score with threes, utilize the floater game and burst to the basket. He also pesters his opponents on the ball to collect steals. He scored around 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3033603' first='Joseph' last='Evans'] Trevor Browne

A defensive minded point guard with quick hands and feet to collect steals. He was one of the better on-ball defenders I saw for the week. He scores it with transition buckets, as he is very fast in the open court, downhill drives and his floater game is his sweet spot. He scored 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3148573' first='Devion' last='Garcia'] North

An undersized point guard is a smart guard who can make passes with either hand straight into shooting pockets. He will use a burst to get downhill and shoot it from mid-range and get to the free throw line. He was one of their bright spots in their loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='3150619' first='Jasiah' last='Lloyd'] Carl Hayden

A combo guard with some quickness, speed and a little athleticism. He is aggressive on defense with quicker hands and feet and will score. He uses a burst to blow by his initial defender to the basket. He is also a sneaky good passer with lobs and up the court.
