Thanksgiving week I attended four tournaments for exactly 25 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were Phoenix Union Coyote Classic at Central and Deer Valley for 2 days, Fear The Hop Tournament at Mesa HS, Ben Franklin Thanksgiving Classic at Ben Franklin and Gilbert Christian and lastly the LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC.

Here were some 2029 PG/SG Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='3067192' first='Trey' last='Cicerelli'] Gilbert Christian

A freshman scoring guard is your classic catch and shoot three point specialist type with range. He smartly stays in motion off the ball and is always in shot-ready mode. He has quicker hands in the passing lanes to gain deflections and shows upside for the small school team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759173' first='Jordan' last='Cruz'] Dysart (Pictured)

A scoring lead guard can light it up with threes off the catch using a quick trigger, he uses the floater game and he is very elusive with some speed and crafty to get to the paint plus earn trips to the line. The lefty really thinks the game and he scored 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812700' first='Thiago' last='Esquivel'] Maryvale

A tough undersized point guard who is fearless and shows toughness and skill. He will score with dribble drives using a burst with his left or right hand thru the contact and advanced body control. He will shoot it with mid-range pull-ups and gets trips to the free throw line often. He competes harder then most freshmen. He scored 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2949469' first='Zane' last='Graham'] Paradise Valley

A long and leaner scoring guard who can defend multiple positions. He will score with catch and shoot threes off the catch or dribble with a fast trigger and good looking ball rotation. He can read a court but is best as a secondary ball handler. He scored 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251690' first='Innocent' last='Onwo'] Mesa

A thicker framed defensive scoring guard with good feel and strength. He can make a play for a teammate with drive and kicks and he will keep his opponent in front of him and even block a shot. He is a natural downhill attacker who can hit the three with range.

[player_tooltip player_id='3143404' first='Cash' last='Rogers'] Verrado

The son of Coach Rogers has good height, feel and skill already. He sees the court with next level court vision and thinks the game. He will hit the three off the catch and has some speed and length to defend on the ball. They have some very good seniors so I can see him breaking out next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2886380' first='Remy' last='Rose'] Carl Hayden

A bigger point guard is a next level live dribble passer with his left or right hand. He can hold his own defensively and he will score. He can hit the three off the catch and burst to the basket to find a teammate. The future lead guard for the 5A team is tough to cover.

[player_tooltip player_id='2894935' first='Kendell' last='Stapleton'] Desert Mountain

A fast and quick pure point guard with speed. He is a good on-ball defender with his lateral quickness and toughness. He will score with blow by's to the basket, offensive rebound put backs and has good open court speed with the ball. He scored 6 points.
