2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765506' first='Brady' last='Boulton'] (Montezuma) -- 42 points (16-31 FG, 7-16 3P, 3-6 FT), 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals [vs. Pekin]

Boulton is one of the most explosive scorers in the state, as he showed in the Braves' narrow loss to Pekin, dropping 42 points and scoring from everywhere. He shoots it at a high level off the dribble and the catch, can create for his teammates, and is a real pest on the defensive end.

2028 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2439640' first='Jevyn' last='Severson'] (Madrid) -- 38 points (16-24 FG, 6-8 FT), 14 rebounds, 3 assists [at Pleasantville]

Madrid's long winning streak came to an end in this game, but Severson, a 6-5 sophomore forward, was sensational, putting up a massive double-double and scoring around the bucket routinely. He's a great athlete with soft hands, touch around the rim, and the ability to finish through contact.

2027 SF Dane Strong (Montezuma) -- 30 points (12-21 FG, 5-11 3P, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block [vs. Iowa Valley]

Boulton's Montezuma teammate, Strong had a fantastic game of his own against Iowa Valley, putting up a big double-double of his own. He's a strong wing who can score off the catch or put the ball on the floor and attack for buckets at the rim.

2028 PG Peyton Scott (Lamoni) -- 27 points (11-17 FG, 3-6 3P, 2-4 FT), 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 11 steals, 1 block [at Wayne]

Scott is a new name for me, but he had a sensational game on both ends of the floor against Wayne, coming away with 11 steals and posting the rare points-steals double-double. He's a quick guard with active hands, good vision, and the handles to get by defenders and find open teammates.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2731754' first='Garret' last='Van Es'] (Boyden-Hull) -- 16 points (7-16 FG, 2-3 FT), 16 rebounds (8 offensive), 2 steals, 1 block [vs. Rock Valley]

Van Es is a great athlete who rebounds at an extremely high level on both ends of the floor, as he evidenced in the Comets win over Rock Valley, pulling down eight offensive rebounds en route to his big double-double.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2887821' first='Jack' last='McElroy'] (St. Edmond) -- 2 points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3P, 2-2 FT), 4 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers [vs. Iowa Falls-Alden]

McElroy is the straw that stirs the drink for the top-ranked team in Class 1A. He scored just two points, but he was still in complete control against the Cadets, dishing 12 turnovers and not turning the ball over. A true floor general who loves to get his teammates involved, his impact on the game on both ends of the floor is felt even when he isn't scoring.

2027 PG Tanner Troendle (Kee) -- 9 points (4-10 FG, 1-7 3P), 8 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal [at Clayton Ridge]

Troendle came up a few possessions shy of posting a triple-double against Clayton Ridge, showcasing his all-around talent in stuffing the stat sheet. An athletic, quick guard who sees the floor well, he did a great job setting the table for his teammates and getting them involved from the jump.

2026 PF Levi Reineke (Boyer Valley) -- 23 points (9-15 FG, 3-5 3P, 2-6 FT), 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 block [at Missouri Valley]

Reineke, a 6-0 forward, was really good in the Bulldogs win over Missouri Valley last week, shooting 60% from the floor, showing his ability to score around the bucket or step out and stretch the floor, and control the glass on either end of the floor.
