Class B Capital City Holiday Shootout-Best Underclassmen

Capital City shootout tournament and a ton of talented veterans but in this article we will be focusing on several of the best underclassmen that were at the tournament and that took a back seat to no one showing there skills and proving they maybe ready sooner then later!    Kyle showed nice range nocking down outside shots but also a quick release and quick feet beating his man off the dribble either finishing at the basket or kicking to open teammates for shots. He also showed nice touch around the rim and good court vision finding open shooters.     This kid just plays hard, will defend you the length of the court and doesn't seem to get tired. Attacked the basket well finishing a couple and getting to the foul line on a few more. Did a nice job getting everyone involved but looked for his shot also when he had to, floor general and leader coaches type of player.     Nice guard who does alot of things well, willing to guard anyone/battles the bigger players but never backs down/scrappy baller on both ends of the court. Attacks the basket and willing to finish through contact. Quick first step continues to get better on the offensive end.     Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2253958' first='Drew' last='Hofmann'] has really come into his own this season, he's been asked to step up his scoring and has done just that averaging double digits in points but also snags just over 6 rebounds a game also. At 6'4 he handles the ball like a guard and shoots it from distance with accuracy and consistency. He's hard to match up with because of his length, he's also shown he can play tough down low and has become a sneaky shot blocker!       Jaden had some nice drives and tough finishes through contact at the basket vs Harvey on day two of the tournament. Asked to be one of the primary ball handlers this season and is getting more comfortable with the coaching change. Look for Jaden to have a much bigger impact come the second half of the season, especially once his shot starts to fall on a consistent basis, he's too good of a shooter for thay not to happen which will open up the rest of his game also.     Kysen showed he could score inside and outside shot the three ball well and also scored inside off of offensive rebounds/was very active inside on both ends of the floor. Nice looking shot for a freshman. Solid build for a young player listed at 6'0 but definitely not only looks bigger but plays bigger also, guarded multiple positions on the floor. Ran the floor with surprising athleticism, looked like he knew what he was doing and how to do it. If it wasn't for senior chase Ova having a fabulous game Kysen coulda been player of the game vs Richardton-Taylor.     This kid does alot of good things, just an 8th grader but doesn't play like it. Plays tough defense/rebounds and handles the ball when asked to. Has a great shot from three and the team runs sets to get him open three point shots. Only gonna get better as the season goes on and gives the miners even more depth.     Ethan is shooting the ball very well from the three point line and makes any team pay for not guarding him or losing track of where he is on the floor which is a strength of his as he continually moves on the offensive end. Has great footwork coming off of screens on catch and shoot shots, not afraid to go to the basket and has a nice touch 12ft and in. Plays/looks longer and tougher then his listed 5"11 frame, has been a solid rebounder and ball handler for the Cougars this season as big brother Aiden draws most of the attention. He continues to produce at both ends doing a lil bit of everything, he's also a better defender then what he gets credit for and he's a gamer showing up each and every night.
