Cam was an absolute man among boys during key stretches as he plays with a physical edge and a relentless motor, yet pairs that toughness with a surprisingly polished skill set for his size. His versatility made him a matchup nightmare on both ends of the floor. Despite being known nationally for his exploits on the gridiron, Cam proved he is just as impactful on the hardwood, pouring in 27 points in the opening-round matchup. He brings a wrecking-ball mentality when attacking the rim, but he is far from one-dimensional. He can step out, handle the ball on the perimeter, and create off the bounce, while also displaying good footwork and touch in the paint. His blend of strength, athleticism, and skill gives him legitimate two-way upside and makes him one of the most intriguing multi-sport prospects in the tournament.

He plays with a high level of intensity and competes on every possession, making his presence felt defensively and on the glass. He brings energy and effort, rim protection, physical rebounding, and reliable interior scoring. What separates Joseph is his relentlessness and opponents who don't match his physicality and effort quickly find themselves overwhelmed. His day-one performance set the tone, as he consistently impacted the game without needing plays run for him. His ability to control the paint, protect the rim, and play with force makes him a valuable interior anchor and a tough cover in the metro tournament.

Taliq was the engine behind Albertville's opening-round overtime victory, delivering when it mattered most. While undersized, he compensates with a high-level point guard IQ, toughness, and a well-rounded skill set. He understands pace, controls tempo, and has a strong feel for when to facilitate versus when to look for his own offense. Down the stretch, he knocked down big-time shots and showed zero fear in pressure moments, an invaluable trait for a lead guard. His poise, decision-making, and confidence late in games separated him from the pack and reinforced his value as a steady, dependable floor general who teammates trust with the ball in his hands.

Elias put together one of the more mature performances of the opening round. He plays with really good pace, keeps teammates involved, and consistently makes sound decisions with the ball. His feel for the game stands out, as he reads defenses well and operates efficiently in the half court. While he finished with 10 points, his impact went far beyond the scoresheet. He showed scoring instincts when needed but truly excelled as a connector, organizing the offense, creating advantages, and elevating those around him. His IQ, composure, and leadership traits make him a winning piece at the point guard position.

If I was doing a sniper school article for the Metro 2025 tourney, Connor would have been in it. He connected on a minimum of three triples in the game I watched him compete in, showcasing his ability to stretch the floor and punish defenses for helping off him. Beyond the shooting, Connor flashed value as a secondary ball-handler, capable of scoring both off the catch and off the bounce. Despite being one of the younger players on the floor, he played with confidence and composure, finishing with 13 points in an opening-round win. The Orange Beach coaching staff clearly trusts him, and for good reason as his shooting gravity, offensive versatility, and long-term upside make him a player to track closely in the 2028 class.

He shoots the ball well from deep, forcing defenders to stay attached and opening driving lanes for teammates. Defensively, he competes at the point of attack and makes life difficult for opposing ball-handlers. He also brings leadership and toughness, setting the tone with his hustle and reliability. His production, combined with his intangibles, makes him a glue guy who helps his team in meaningful ways.
