Riggs is a big time player who has an incredibly advanced and dynamic skill set. I would look for Riggs to average 25-30 per game and nearly double digit rebounds. He's an active and creative player in terms of scoring and creating for teammates.

State Tournament Qualifier Prediction

Chapmanville

Until further notice, Chapmanville will be considered the class of this region. They are a team deep with talent, skill and size. This team brings a great deal of experience and chemistry to the floor this year as well including who I think their best player is in [player_tooltip player_id='2310473' first='Eli' last='Smith']. While Eli might not be everyone's first pick who the Tiger's best player is, I'll stand by it for this year. Their cast includes 6'6" [player_tooltip player_id='2734710' first='Keaton' last='Terry'] who's a glass cleaning inside force and high level put-back artist. [player_tooltip player_id='2734711' first='Jay' last='Brock'] who returns as a starter and is a big guard who does alot of things at full speed.

South Charleston

SC hasn't fallen off as far as most think. My sneak peek at them in a preseason scrimmage unveiled a team that plays well at tempo as well as disciplined in the half-court. The addition of [player_tooltip player_id='2954022' first='Jacari' last='Goode'] should be noted as one of the most impactful around the state as he's a high level distributor with excellent court vision as well as one of the state's top on-ball defenders. Goode has also expanded his game on the offensive end adding a great looking jumper. [player_tooltip player_id='2679289' first='Malcolm' last='Brown'] returns as a starter for SC and has looked unstoppable from the outset. Brown is a strong built 6'0" guard who demands space in the paint and gets by defenders on drives with great feet and strength with a crafty touch within 15 feet that's so difficult to defend. This tandem alone is a tough out but SC has also found some new faces

Darkhorse

Nitro: This program could as easily be a favorite to advance to Charleston just as easily as the two i've picked. However I believe they have some areas where they can be exploited with strong post play or athleticism. But nobody should be or would be surprised if they advance.

Spring Valley: Much of this roster is unproven yet has two big stalwarts with [player_tooltip player_id='2345856' first='Nymir' last='Bryant'] who transferred from St. Joe and returning do-everything [player_tooltip player_id='2345905' first='Harrison' last='Riggs']. If the rest of the roster can continue to develop and build chemistry this squad gets dangerous very quickly.

Regional Roundup

This region is absolutely stacked and deep with great teams, talent and impressive coaches. Chapmanville leading the way with players playing in college, multiple (3) state championships, SC being in a state championship game just two years ago and Nitro as well as Spring Valley making tournament appearances as recent as last year. With recent realignment this region ends up being super competitive and could easily produce a state champion out of the top four programs.
