<p>The first full week of the high school basketball season is in the books. Arkansas is blessed with having plenty of talented prospects in each region of the state. Here are a few of the prospects off to a strong start to the season.</p>

<p>The North Little Rock guard is a prospect who can light it up on both ends of the floor. Bryant was productive on both ends of the floor. He has the range to connect on jumpers from all three levels of the floor. Against Little Rock Christian, Bryant had 34 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and one assist. He is a player to watch out for as the season progresses. Bryant is a player who has the potential to do big things over the next few years.</p>

<p>Over the past few years, [player_tooltip player_id='2021913' first='Shep' last='Newcomb'] has been one of the most consistent point guards in the state. Newcomb is off to a strong start to the 2025 season. The Alma guard sees the floor well and does a great job of setting his teammates up for an easy basket. Against Sylvan Hills, Newcomb put up 27 points in one of the best games of the week. Alma emerged victorious 67-64 over Sylvan Hills. Newcomb is a player to watch out for this season.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2376832' first='Cole' last='McGarrah'] has started out the season playing well on both ends of the floor. He is an unselfish player with the basketball. McGarrah makes the extra pass to the open shooter. McGarrah can hit baskets from anywhere on the floor. Against Elkins, McGarrah struck for 17 points in helping the Tigers grind out a victory. McGarrah and the Tigers are off to a strong start to the season. He is a player to watch out for this season.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2021891' first='RJ' last='Young'] had a huge game against Little Rock Parkview to open the season this week. Young is a prospect who can fill up the stat sheet on both ends of the floor. He struck for 24 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, and one assist on the night against Parkview. The Bryant Hornets are off to another strong start to the season. Young is a player to watch as the season progresses for the Hornets.</p>
