IPS In-Season Tournament- All Tourney 3rd Team

These players were the best of the rest. The value they showed for their teams was undeniable. Whether it was being hard workers or doing the intangibles, these guys were difference makers.    Jordan is a talented scorer! He's great at getting to the basket. In the match-up against TC Howe, Jordan scored in a variety of ways. Whether it was beating opponents off the dribble, knocking down shots from mid-range or extending his range beyond the arc, the opposition had no answers defensively. Whenever Jordan had one-on-one match-ups, he immediately went to work on the his defender. These circumstances often led to him scoring or assisting teammates cutting to the basket. On defense, he played great on the perimeter. His on-ball pressure forced numerous turnovers and led to easy transition scores for himself or others. Jordan is a good all-around player who is destined to have a big season.     Tavion is an aggressive scorer who stayed in “attack mode” throughout the game. He handles the ball, beats defenders off the dribble and excels at drawing fouls. Offensively, he showed the ability to knock down mid-range shots on the perimeter. Whenever Tavion had an opportunity to extend his range beyond the three-point line, he was able to be effective. He gave maximum effort on both ends of the floor. In some instances, Tavion attacked the boards and gave his team second chance opportunities to score. On defense, he showed quick hands and forced multiple steals. I was impressed by his effort to make plays on defense. Tavion's aggressive mentality is one that will benefit him during the Middle school season.     Tony is an athletic big man who scores inside, attacks the glass and defends. He used various moves to score in the post. Tony was great at scoring with either hand in the paint. I noticed a nice fade away jump-shot in his scoring arsenal. He gained position in the post and knocked this shot down numerous times. Whenever TC Howe had an opportunity to score in transition, Tony finished strong at the rim. He's an excellent rebounding forward who aggressively grabbed boards on both ends of the court. Many of them led to second chance shot opportunities for his teammates or himself. Defensively, Tony's timing was excellent as it pertains to shot-blocking. He finished the game with three. Whenever Arlington players attacked the paint, Tony was always there to alter their shots?      Anterion did a little of everything on the basketball court. He played hard and did whatever TC Howe needed to be successful. Whether it's scoring in the paint, rebounding or defending, Anterion was effective in all areas. He hustles to make all the necessary plays on the court. Many of Anterion's scores came from offensive rebounds. He is an excellent passer who often found teammates cutting to the basket. This led to easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. When TC Howe ran the floor, Anterion often finished strong in transition. Defensively, he was great at pressuring opposing players into turnovers. He is the ultimate team player who plays unselfish and puts the team first.     The big man was an offensive presence in the paint. Aubrey scored many of his baskets after he grabbed offensive rebounds or converted the missed shots of his teammates. He used his advantage as the tallest player to attack the glass on both ends of the court. Aubrey sets solid screens that allowed Broad Ripple players to have great looks at the basket. Whenever he drew double-teams in the paint, Aubrey kicked out passes to teammates along the perimeter. Defensively, Aubrey blocked numerous shots and protected the paint. Whenever Arlington attacked the lane, he was there to alter their shots and make scoring difficult. Aubrey is a hard-working player who does all the dirty work for the team.
