About Schultz: Schultz has been a four-year varsity mainstay for one of the best programs in the state, Dubuque Senior. A tough, physical forward who can score inside and out at a highly efficient clip, he has the ability to take bigger defenders off the dribble or score against smaller defenders on the block. Armed with a high IQ and understanding of offensive spacing, he can step out and stretch the floor with a smooth, effortless stroke out to the arc, and he's a high-level rebounder on both ends of the floor. If he were a few inches taller, he would've undoubtedly ended up playing at the Division I level; instead, he'll head off to Division II Rockhurst, where he could make an early impact with his ability to score in a multitude of ways.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: He has put up pretty impressive numbers for the Rams with remarkable efficiency over the last three years, and he'll be the focal point for a Rams team that will be among the best teams in Class 4A this year. If Senior is able to make a run to the state tournament, and make a run when they get there, it'll largely be on the shoulders of Schultz, and he'll garner some serious consideration.
