I watched some video of Brandeis' elite camp on Saturday, September 27th. Though I wasn't able to see every game at the camp, I got a pretty good idea of who played well. Furthermore, since there were tons of kids at the camp that I've already covered in the past, I only focused on writing about new kids.

With that being said, here are some new faces I saw for the first time.

Sotos really impressed me with his combination of positional size and skill. He's a very big guard who has good athleticism, and he does a really good job getting downhill and making plays for himself and his teammates -- "solid" is probably the best word to describe him. He did lots of grabbing rebounds and attacking on the break, and he's an excellent kick-ahead passer who plays with great unselfishness. He also does a great job getting to two feet in the lane and playing under control, and I like his shooting mechanics a lot. D3 schools should be all over Sotos.

Heyer is ridiculously fun to watch. He was probably the leading scorer at Brandeis camp, but he didn't do it with his size. The 5-foot-11 guard is insanely quick with the rock and stays so close to the ground when he handles it, so he's quite difficult to stay in front of and keep out of the lane. Once he gets into the paint, he has a deep bag of crafty finishing moves and makes really nice spray outs to his teammates if the trees come to help. I don't know what's in the water in Staples, CT, but Heyer plays just like Connecticut College commit [player_tooltip player_id='2759446' first='Sam' last='Clachko'], who will be his teammate this year.

Lane is an intriguing prospect who really impressed me with his skillset and feel for the game. The 6-foot-2 guard has a really smooth handle and does a good job changing speeds with the rock; his herky-jerky dribbling style throws off defenders. He also shoots it well from three and can get to his spots in the mid range for pull ups and floaters. He's crafty, he has finesse, and he's oozing with skill. If he can get stronger and more athletic, he could be a really solid D3 player. Will be curious whether Lane reclassifies moving forward and how he does this season at Salem.

Murphy is tough as nails and as solid as they come. The 6-foot southpaw does a really good job getting to two feet in the lane and is always on balance and under control. He can shoot the ball from three, he can make shots from the mid range, and he can finish with contact at the hoop. His strength and toughness on drives to the rim is really impressive, and he bullies other guards his size. The Blair Academy senior should develop a lot on such a talented team this season, and I would imagine he'll have some solid D3 opportunities as a result.

Ekicibasi was one of the more physically imposing guys at Brandeis camp and did a really good job cleaning up the glass. The 6-foot-5 forward is strong and has good timing and positional instincts, and I was especially impressed with what he did once he got rebounds. He was able to handle it a bit in transition and also made excellent kickouts to teammates for open shots. He runs the floor hard, he finishes with both hands, and he makes the simple play. Ekicibasi might not be a huge piece of MacDuffie's squad this season, but he should still find a D3 fit.
