Centralia 2026 Sharp Shooter is Back

[player_tooltip player_id='2894776' first='Devin' last=''] Meier was out for most of the summer with a shoulder injury, but the Centralia senior was lethal with his shot making on Tuesday night as he was automatic letting it fly as I wrote down 3 in my notebook well over a dozen time during game play. He poured them in one after another with an elite shot both off the catch and pulling up. It was consistently nothing but net. Also displayed solid passing feel especially kicking when in the lane. Expect a big senior year for the Orphans two guard!

Up front we really liked what we saw from Freeburg post [player_tooltip player_id='2499794' first='Oren' last='Byman']. The first thing that stood out about Byman was he has slimmed down his frame which resulted in improved mobility round the hoop. Sealed on the block for finishes, ran the floor hard throughout the workout, and got on the offensive glass for put backs. Pick/roll dunk and was effective on the glass along with blocking several shots. Carterville big man [player_tooltip player_id='2477842' first='Amareon' last='Adams'] is an intriguing athlete as the southpaw has good strength and bounce. Nice high/low finish and when engaged on the defensive end can be a game changer! On the wing Metro East Lutheran 6'5” small forward [player_tooltip player_id='2507312' first='Dominic' last='Boyd'] really showed off his athleticism especially on the defensive end! Had a few emphatic swats and made plays attacking off the bounce for spinning layups. Waltonville 6'6” small forward [player_tooltip player_id='1552409' first='Gage' last='Peterson'] has a good frame with long arms. He is very effective in ISO situations creating space for his shot and winning on drives. Got on the glass, but as usual it was his three point shooting that carried the day. He closed out the evening with the game winning three in the final scrimmage. Carlyle wing [player_tooltip player_id='2962252' first='Zack' last='Persing'] has nice size at 6'5” on the wing. Liked how he pushed it in the open floor and scored in transition or dished for others. Was best in an up and down setting and also racked up quite a few steals throughout the night! His high school teammate at Carlyle Brady Gustafson is a 5'10” point guard that is a capable shot maker. Same can be said about another 5'10” guard in Nashville's [player_tooltip player_id='2871619' first='Max' last='Reeder']. Solid shooter that should be a key contributor for an always talented Hornets squad.

Rahm and Harmon Shine in 2027 Class

The player I was most looking forward to seeing was Trenton Wesclin 6'3” guard [player_tooltip player_id='2963262' first='Gavin' last='Rahm']. The junior picked up an offer recently, but wasn't seen on the circuit so we were excited to get a look at him! Strong bodied combo guard who we noticed early on was vocal and talking on the defensive end. That is extremely rare in a setting like this. Shifty ball handler that has quick acceleration getting to the cup. Plays really hard. Clean looking shot knocking them in from the mid-range pretty consistently along with an occasional three on this night. Solid passer that has good basketball instincts. [player_tooltip player_id='2630011' first='Jude' last='Harmon'] is a 6'3” Massac County guard that was lights out with his shot making. Along with Meier he was one of the best pure shooters in the upperclassmen session. Pure stroke off the catch spotting up and as the evening got going the pull up shot started to fall from mid-range and three. Mixed in some floaters. Really liked what we saw out of him. [player_tooltip player_id='2393747' first='Kassidy' last='Linkey'] of Nashville is a point guard that competes on the defensive end and has some shooting potential.
