Pro West Exposure Camp Newcomers

The Pro West Exposure Camp at the Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek, CA brought out over 160 NorCal prospects across each class to compete at this growing annual event before High School Fall Ball kicks in. There was plenty of top prospects competing. In an effort to shine the light on New Prospects here are some of the newcomers that caught our attention with their play.    Wiley showed big guard skills. He can be productive playing multiple positions. Standing 6'6 he rebounded, controlled his dribble seeing the court, pushing, and looking to make the right play or convert going all the way. He's a willing passer, moves the ball around the perimeter. He had good activity around the rim using his length to finish in traffic. He recovers quickly on the defensive side of the ball. 13pts, 6 rebs with his HS team.     The 6'2 guard made his presence felt. He played well the two games we watched, including the Top 40 Game, 18pts, 2-3's. He played good all around team basketball. He knocked down open 3-point opportunities, had hard dribble drive layups along the baseline. He used his 6'2 frame to help rebound. He got a couple of steals, passed the ball up, or converted layups.     A good size square shoulder prospect with good movement. He has the makings of a top rebounder using his strength and good hops around the basket. He finishes strong going up around the rim on both sides going for rebounds, and gathering points. He showed he can operate along the perimeter, and the high post using limited dribbles to get to his shot, at the rim or pulling up for short jumpers.       He's a strong hard nosed defender, standing around 6'0 he has the foot speed, and upper body strength to defend both guard positions. He was an aggressive defender at Cali-Live. At this event he showed a bit more balance in the Frosh/Soph All Star Game. He was strong and aggressive attacking the basket off the dribble, and in transition. He's 6'0, but goes up high finishing at the rim, rebounding from the guard position, and lift on the paint jumper.         It's too early to call Keeney a shooter, but he did knock down timely 3-point shots, throughout the game we saw including a game winner. He dropped a couple 3's around the perimeter, stays shot ready. He looks for open spots to put up rhythm 3's in transition.     He's a fast, speedy guard with quality handles, and moves to glide by defenders. He's a lefty with a quick crossover to getting into his rhythm for drives into the paint, or off the dribble, mostly for mid-range jumpers, but he did drop a couple of 3's after dribbling. He'll keep defenders off balance, and he'll lock in with good on ball defense.     He was a varsity player at Vacaville, played his way into the Frosh/Soph All Star game at this event with his point guard play. He's a excellent ball handler, has court vision, did well distributing the ball around the court with pinpoint passing, finding players cutting to the basket with no look passing. He has decent speed, and control with the ball to generate his own scoring opportunities.     A lengthy arm guard standing 6'2 got a good number of rebounds. He has foot speed along with good lateral movement to stay close to ball handlers. He had good effort defending, hustled back on defense, slowed up ball handlers. He's fast filling lanes in transition.
