2025 IYBL: Back to School League- Game Changers

The skills of these players allowed their teams to have a successful weekend on the basketball court. Their play was vital to each team they played for.    Cam is a great all around player. Whether it's scoring, passing, rebounding or defending, he was always in the flow of the game. Cam is a excellent ball handler who is capable of scoring from every level of the court. In Saturday's game, I watched him attack the basket, knock down perimeter jumpers and extend his range beyond the three-point line. Cam showed toughness while battling for rebounds in the paint. He was effective despite being smaller than the opposition. Defensively, he caused problems for his opponents by pressing them into turnovers. I believe Cam will continue to prosper on the basketball court. As his skills continue to progress, I could see him becoming a special player in the coming years.     Mason is a tough minded guard who has the look of a true “floor general.” I enjoyed watching this young man lead Frankton 8th Saturday afternoon. Mason is a great passer who set-up his teammates for high percentage shots. He finished the game as the team's leader in assists. Mason excelled at getting to the basket. He scored a number of his points on strong finishes through contact. Whenever the opportunity was available to knock down perimeter shots, Mason showed no hesitation. On defense, he showed a prowess for jumping passing lanes. This led to him having multiple steals throughout the game. As I said, this young man was awesome at the lead guard spot. Mason has all the traits of becoming a future star with growth and maturity.     Blake plays the center position like most big men in today's game. He showed the ability to post up smaller players and dominate the paint. Blake was also a threat from the perimeter. In the match-up against Indy Premier 2030, he knocked down short jump-shots and attempted multiple threes. He's a hardworking player who gave maximum effort on both ends of the court. As it pertains to rebounding, Blake attacked the glass with ferocity! Especially on the offensive side of the ball. Whenever his teammates missed shots, he was always there to grab it and score. He's a solid player, with a bright future in the game of basketball. Keep it up Blake!!     This young man was the “hustle guy” for Primetime 2030 Silver. Harrison did everything on the court. He excelled at rebounding on both ends of the floor. Harrison attacked the boards with authority. Especially on the offensive side. Whenever his teammates missed shots, Harrison was there to grab the board and score the basket. When the team had an opportunity to run fast-breaks, he sprinted down court and finished strong at the rim. He's a good ball handler who creates his own shots by beating defenders off the dribble. Slashing to the basket, often led to scores or assists to his Primetime 2030 Silver teammates. Defensively, Harrison put his body on the line by taking charges and playing great team defense. Keep working Harrison!!     Thomas has the skills of a power forward but the height of a guard. He's a physically strong player who attacked the glass with authority. Whenever the ball was in his vicinity, Thomas made a point to snatch the ball away from the opposition. He was great at scoring tough baskets in the paint. Despite being closely guarded by opposing players, Thomas stayed in “attack mode” throughout the game. Some of his scores led to three-point play opportunities from the foul-line. Thomas has a great mid to long range shot he can fall back on. When he has great looks at the basket, the likelihood of him scoring was high. In my opinion, Thomas has the capability of being a special player as he continues to progress. Keep working Thomas!!
