Film Room: 2027s Part 2

There were over 100 prospects who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the second group of 2027s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2446472' first='Kamden' last='Hack'] (Byrnes) - Leading off Part 2 of our 2027 Film Room is one of my favorite Wings in the Junior Class, [player_tooltip player_id='2446472' first='Kamden' last='Hack']. I think he will be a major addition to this Byrnes squad, and his [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] highlights show why. Hack is an all-around, athletic, 6'4" Wing who works on the offensive glass, makes the right pass as defenses collapse around him, finishes with both hands, and hits open threes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2630768' first='Andrew' last='Scales'] (JL Mann) - Next up on the list is another NLE 2027 prospect. The first thing that stands out about Andrew's film is his strong frame. He has a sturdy base that can help him punish smaller Guards and a thick upper body that allows him to finish through contact at the rim. Scales is also a solid option with the ball in his hands because he can see and make all the necessary passes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2951000' first='Zealand' last='Keyser'] (JL Mann) - Keyser is the third and final NLE Guard on this list. He had a well-balanced highlight reel that featured his ability to score at all three levels, make plays for others, and impact the game defensively. Even though he is a creative finisher and is comfortable pulling up in the mid-range, I think Zealand's most projectable offensive attribute is his shooting because of the high release and deep range.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2561860' first='Jamarion' last='Keith'] (Hillcrest) - [player_tooltip player_id='2561860' first='Jamarion' last='Keith'] brings a study frame and good competitiveness over from the gridiron onto the hardwood. Despite being just 6'0", Keith looks to play inside with his big body and good feet. He finishes well through contact and likes to clean the glass, but his film also showed that he is a capable ball-handler and driver in spots.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2893954' first='Connor' last='McCraw'] (Chesnee) - Connor will be a new addition to the Prep Hoops South Carolina 2027 Rankings next month. Like Hack, McCraw is one of the Upstate's most impactful transfers after making the move from Gaffney to Chesnee. He fits the modern mold of a Point Guard because his two best attributes are his shooting and passing. Keep an eye on him as a potential breakout star this year for the Eagles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2951115' first='Ashford' last='Adeyemi']</strong> (Blythewood) - Adeyemi is a new name to me, and the Film Room was my first glimpse of his game. He has decent length at 6'1" and uses it to affect the game close to the ball. Ashford looks to make plays off the dribble often, displaying a good feel for either getting to the paint and finishing himself or finding teammates. He also worked well on the glass on both ends.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Shayon McGruder</strong> (Latta) - Latta's Shayon McGruder rounds out this 2027 Film Room. He led the Vikings in scoring as a Sophomore last season at 11.7 Points Per Game, which matches what I saw from him on film. McGruder's scoring package features a very good floater game, efficiency from the outside, and a nasty crossover that helps him create space for both. On the defensive end, Shayon has quick, active hands to force on-ball turnovers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
