This is the 5th version of these player rankings for the Class of 2026, which have previously been featured on the Nothing But Net Magazine website. I have updated this list to include the Spring and Summer club sessions, and the Scholastic Live Periods of June. I have expanded this list from 55 to 60 players from around the Central Section. This list of players was compiled using my own evaluations, along with feedback from knowledgeable media, coaches, and other relevant basketball personnel from the Section, to make up the top 60 rising senior prospects for this updated round of player rankings for the 2026 Class. However, the order of players on this list is my own. I will update these rankings by the end of the calendar year and expand the number of players if needed. This list takes into consideration two key factors in determining where players are ranked, and will be the same criteria used each time this list is updated. The criteria for these rankings are as follows: current skill level and production on the court, as well as future projection at the collegiate level. The depth of this class combined with the impact many have had since their freshman year, has led to some impressive statistics and numbers that will set some on track to achieve key milestones and even school records. Below is the next 10 players of these players rankings, #11 through #20, and will be followed by players ranked #21-#30 layers. In this article, you will find the following information: current rank, their previous rank in parentheses, the player's name, height, player position, and current school attending. We begin this updated list with the big man from St. Joseph, [player_tooltip player_id='2131807' first='Abdoul' last='Bare'].

11 (6) [player_tooltip player_id='2131807' first='Abdoul' last='Bare'] |6'9| FC (St. Joseph)

Bare moves out of the top 10 for the first time since I started the player rankings for this class, and comes in at #11. Bare has been one of key interior pieces since his freshman year and has been part of two Central Section D1 Titles, his freshman year and last season, and brings a depth of experience to a team that will be adjusting to life post-Tounde Yesoufou. Bare averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds last season, but saw his minutes drop due to the stellar play of recent graduate Matas Siskauskas, who occupied the center spot in the starting line-up. Bare has added muscle and some post-moves to his game, and after playing with Team Why Not 17s on the EYBL Circuit in the Spring, he decided to run with Team Build Up at the Pangos Sweet 16 and Big Time events in July, which allowed him to showcase his game more and get quality minutes on the court. Bare also participated in the Pangos Premier 80, and was one of the more imposing bigs at the Invite Only showcase. Bare is athletic and has a solid frame, controls the boards, is a high-level rim protector, has good back to the basket moves with touch on the float hook, and can space the floor with the jumper with the ability to connect on the 3-ball occasionally. Bare will be part of a forward/center rotation that is unrivaled in the Section and will be looking to add a 3rd Section Title to his resume.

12 (18) Logan Missler |6'2| CG (San Luis Obispo)

Moving up 6 spots and coming in at #12 on this updated list of player rankings is Logan Missler, coming off a stellar junior season. Missler earned 1st Team All-Central Coast Mountain League, as he would lead the Tiger in scoring and has emerged as one of the true hidden gems of the Central Section, and was a participant in the Invite Only Pangos Premier 80. Missler keeps the ball on a string to survey the defense, has a solid frame to absorb contact and get his shot off within fifteen feet of the basket, the moves to create separation from his defender, and showed he has the step-back 3-ball in his scoring arsenal. Solid on-ball defender, active hands and timely decisions to rip the ball from opponents that are loose with the dribble, and the agility to defend perimeter players on and off the ball. Missler will be the key catalyst for San Luis this coming season, and likely one of the leading scorers in the Section, and will look to give the Knights of St. Joseph a challenge for the league title, which it has had a grip on its league for nearly a decade.

13 (20) Cliff Willis |6'2| CG (South Bakersfield)

Willis is coming off an impressive Spring and Summer of play with his high school team, as well as playing with Team Rampage on the Prelude 32 Circuit, and has moved up seven spots to #13 in this updated list. Willis earned SYML MVP his sophomore season, and put up great numbers last year to help lead his team to a co-SYML title, averaging 10 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, and earning B-Varsity 2nd Team All-Area for the South Valley. Willis is a true lead guard that plays with good pace and feel for the game, is confident on the jumper with increased efficiency from the 3-point line, gets great lift on the mid-range pull-up from the elbows, and is a strong on-ball defender with active hands to deflect passes and create turnovers. Willis will be part of an upperclass heavy roster for the Spartans and will be the favorites to win its league, as well as one of the front-runners to win the D3 Section Title.

14 (21) Landon Haynes |6'1| PG (Porterville)

Haynes is one of the top true lead guards in the Section and he led the Panthers last season to a three-way tie for the EYL title, with Redwood and Monache, and averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds earning 1st Team All-EYL honors. Haynes had an impressive showing at the Bakersfield College team camp in June, as he showed improved shooting efficiency from the perimeter and continued high-level lead guard play. For these reasons, I have moved Haynes into the top 20 at #14. Haynes keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, great court vision to find open teammates from the top of the key or off the dribble drive, has nice touch on the floater down the lane and the pull-up jumper, is effective with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch, and does a great job of jumping passing lanes or creating turnovers with active hands to disrupt his opponents dribbling space. Makes good use of the hesitation to keep his defender off balance, the quick crossover to create space, where the court opens up and he makes quality decisions when on the attack. Haynes will be a key piece for the Panthers, which returns a bulk of its core from last season and will look to win the EYL Title outright and make noise in the D2 Playoffs.

15 (16) Devin Gaines |6'7| WF (Buchanan)

Gaines moves up one spot in this updated list of player rankings to the #15 spot, and, after being a core piece of the Fresno Christian Eagles D5 section Title, as well as a team-high 17 points in the Eagles loss in the D5 State Championship game, he has transferred to Buchanan. Gaines is one of the bigger names to transfer over the Summer, and will add the depth, length, size, and winning experience to the Buchanan Bears, who looked poised to make another run at the TRAC League title. I was able to see Gaines a few times over the Summer, at the Clovis North Nike Shootout, the Fresno State team camp, and at California Live to wrap up June play, and his game easily translates to being an impact guy for the Bears. Gaines is a lengthy and athletic wing/forward that can space the floor with the 3-ball, is active on the glass, alter shots at the rim with the agility to switch out and defend perimeter players, has nice touch on finishes around the basket, and has enough handle to create off the wing, and gets good lift on his jumper. He adds depth and versatility to the Bears roster, who will need to generate points with recent grad and co-TRAC MVP Conner Sheets no longer there to carry the bulk of the scoring load. Gaines is currently a D2 level prospect and I am curious what he decides after high school, as he is good at volleyball.

16 (19) Sean Smith-Sharkey |6'1| CG (Bullard)

Smith-Sharkey moves up three spots from the last round of these player rankings to the #16 spot, and is coming off a highly productive Spring and Summer, with Bullard, as well as Lakeshow 17s in the Spring and Trained To Go (Fresno) for the Summer, and had some impressive performances in both high school and club ball formats. Smith had two strong showings at the California Scholastic Live tournament, with two games of 14 points and was one of the team's leading 3-point shooters. Smith was also productive for Bullard at the Clovis North Nike Shootout and the Fresno State team camp leading up to the scholastic live event. Smith has handles and moves to create space from his defender, is efficient with the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, moves fluidly off the ball to get open looks off the catch, can score from beyond the arc in volume, can stop on a dime for the pull-up jumper, has the court vision to make plays off the dribble drive, and is creative around the basket. Smith is a lock-up on-ball defender that has quick hands and footspeed to get into his opponent's dribbling space, as well as good timing to jump passing lanes and get transition buckets. Smith will make-up a backcourt trio, along with fellow rising seniors Ja'Vance Coleman and Dalen Felder, that should help the Knights make a third run at a CMAC title.

17 (22) Brayden Harris |6'9| FC (Buchanan)

Harris moves into the top 20 and comes in at #17, and is one of the top true forward/centers in the Central Section regardless of class, as was displayed during the month of June at the Clovis North Nike Shootout and the California Live event to wrap up June. Harris has been the anchor for the Bears on both ends since his freshman year, and has continued to hone his craft as a more traditional big with great footwork and moves to get space from his defender and score in tight windows around the basket, has a smooth stroke on the jumper from the top of the key, and has great back-to-the-basket moves for the turn around face-up jumper, shake into the baby hook/floater with nice touch, and has enough handle to attack from the top of the key to get to the basket. Harris dominates the glass, protects the basket, and makes good reads when at the top of the offense. Harris will be relied upon to be the interior enforcer for the Bears, as it looks to earn another TRAC title, and potential trip back to the D1 Championship game. He is currently a D2 prospect with intrigue from D1 programs, with his size and skill set translating nicely at the next level.

18 (35) Stanley Makely |6'3| CG (Central East)

Makely is one of the biggest stock risers of this updated list of players, as he jumped 17 spots and comes in at #18. I was able to see Makely at the Clovis North Nike Shootout, as well as the Clovis West Nike Summer Showdown, and his game has made major strides. Makely was a core part for the Grizzlies (now the Bengals) last season, as it made a run to the D2 Central Section title game, but will be relied upon to be more of a scorer this coming season and he showed the shooting proficiency and shot making variety in his play over the Spring and Summer. Makely is a good positional rebounder with the handle to push the ball up the court, the court vision to make plays in transition or the half court setting, improved handles and moves to create off the dribble, with accuracy on the jumper from the pull-up mid-range to the 3-point line, moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch, and body control on the spin move to evade his defender on finishes at the basket. Makely is a tough on-ball defender that can turn defense to offense quickly.

19 (9) Jackson Scarborough |6'9| F (Clovis)

Moving out of the top 10 and coming in at #19 is Jackson Scarborough, who transferred back to Clovis after spending a year at San Joaquin Memorial. Scarborough has been one of the better known prospects since entering high school, but was plagued with injuries last season that limited his play and time on the court. I was able to see Scarborough play multiple times over the summer and he was a nice fit in the post to go along with a young but very talented Cougar roster. Scarborough is a high-level shot blocker and rim protector, controls the boards, has enough handle to push the ball off the glass or the outlet pass to get out in the open court, where he runs the floor well to get in position for up-court passes. Scarborough has good touch on shots around the basket, can spread the floor with the 3-ball, has a smooth jumper from the mid-post, and has the handle to attack the basket from the top of the key. Scarborough will be relied upon to be the veteran presence, as a 4-year varsity player, and will be called to hold down the paint on both ends of the court.

20 (NR) Shea Buckley |6'1| CG (Atascadero)

Rounding out the top 20 and making his debut in these updated player rankings, with the biggest jump of any player. I had heard about Buckley, but had not seen him live before this past June at the Clovis West Nike Summer Shootout, where he displayed quality lead guard play and scoring. Last season, Buckley averaged over 20 points per game and was named to 1st Team All-League for the Central Coast Mountain League. Despite the loss of rising sophomore bigman Kason Niko, Buckley will keep Atascadero competitive in league play and is one of the true hidden gems of the Section at the guard spot. Buckley has a strong handle on the ball, the court vision to make plays, especially off the drive and kick pass, is a tough on-ball defender with active hands to create steals and deflections that lead to transition points. Buckley makes nice use of the hesitation, the crossover, and between the leg cross to get by or create space from his defender, and is accurate with the jumper off the bounce, with a smooth stroke from three off the dribble or the catch. Definitely a player to keep an eye on this coming season.
