The 2028's Who Impressed at the 2025 Blue Chips Invitational

The Blue Chips Invitational that took place in Friendswood, Texas gave me the opportunity to look at new prospects to evaluate. These prospects impressed with their play throughout Sunday on the only day I was able to attend. Look out for these prospects to create more buzz as time goes on.    [player_tooltip player_id='2640637' first='Mackell' last='Jenkins'] is an aggressive downhill scorer who occasionally scores from the perimeter offensively. He excelled in the half-court, beating his defenders off the dribble and taking advantage of fast break opportunities before the opposing defenses could react. Defensively, his active hands allowed him to get into passing lanes a few times. On the ball, I appreciated the pressure he put on his matchups at times. As a graduate of the 2028 class, with dedication and hard work, he has the potential to further develop his game and become an even more formidable player.     James Henry, a formidable shooter for Be Someone Elite throughout the day, showcased his lethal standing three-point shooting when open, posing a significant threat to opposing defenses. Once he established a steady rhythm from the perimeter, he never diminished his aggressive play, which I appreciated about his game. While he posed a threat from the perimeter, he also created driving lanes primarily going left. As a freshman, James was named District 22-6A Newcomer of the Year, contributing to a South Houston High School team that made the playoffs.     Throughout the game against Be Someone Elite, [player_tooltip player_id='2909026' first='Randall' last='Moore'] made significant contributions on both ends of the court, particularly in the second half. His athleticism shone through as he outjumped opposing players on rebounds, using tips to himself and simply grabbing the ball coming off the rim. On the offensive end, Randall capitalized on post entries, offensive boards, and his ability to run well in transition to score. While primarily defending opposing players in the interior, Randall occasionally guards on the perimeter.     Tanner Richard's remarkable ability to make a significant impact on scoring was evident throughout Sunday's game. His shooting form was particularly impressive, as he demonstrated his versatility by shooting from various spots on the perimeter, both with and without the ball. While Tanner excels at shooting from the perimeter, he also possesses the skill to drive to the basket and create scoring opportunities. Opposing defenses should be cautious of Tanner, as he has the potential to deliver explosive offensive performances if given the chance.     Tyrie Wooten, a player I've been following for quite some time this summer, has truly impressed me. Offensively, he excels at scoring on all three levels, especially when he's driving downhill. His quickness with the ball makes it effortless for him to outmaneuver defenders. Throughout my time watching him play this summer, I've witnessed his remarkable ability to make winning plays. His impact on the team's success is evident, and I'm confident that his skills will translate to the school season. Coming off the season as the Newcomer of the Year and Academic All District, the 2028 guard has made a name for himself this summer and is poised to continue his high school career on a high note.
