They enjoyed success from the jump, rattling off four wins in four games way back at <a href="https://prephoops.com/2023/04/introducing-shockers-2026-aau/">Memphis in May</a> in 2023. That proved to be a harbinger of things to come in the intervening years. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This July is their final hoorah. And they are making the most of it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CHAMPIONSHIP GAME</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It the double overtime winner <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1923548' first='Jackson' last='McCutcheon']</strong> led all scorers with 19 points, including five made three-pointers. Big Red<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='2436043' first='Hart' last='Weatherford']</strong> put up 16 points in the victory. The one remaining double-figure scorer was <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1911257' first='Hudson' last='McKnight'] </strong>(Brentwood). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A breakout season continued for<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='2817948' first='Lawson' last='Gillispie']</strong> (9p, 10r, 2b). Battle Ground Academy sees Gillispie ascending to a more prominent role in 2025-2026</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:quote --> <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"><!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1901670' first='Jake' last='Harney']</strong> is a very confident, high-energy guy. He gave away a couple of inches to his defender, so he needed to be extremely active moving around the court to find open shots, which he did. Harney is a high motor guy. Takes some bad shots, some good shots. - PrepHoopsTN evaluation in April 2023</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --></blockquote> <!-- /wp:quote --> <!-- wp:quote --> <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"><!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1911257' first='Hudson' last='McKnight']</strong> understands spacing and passing angles much better than his peers. Though Hudson stands taller than several AAU teammates he is clearly gifted with the most natural pass-first mind. He made a fantastic feed off of the pick'n'roll and found a sagging defender sleeping on another. He makes a lot of correct choices quickly, signs of a matured basketball mind or perhaps just wonderful natural instincts. Hudson's outside shot is behind his peers at the stronger 15u level though. Also, Hudson plays timid in the lane. He needs to become more mentally tough in the spots that require bumps and nudges. He is thin now, but of course that is easily addressed for a 15 and 16 year old. More vexing is his timidity. - PrepHoopsTN evaluation in April 2023</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --></blockquote> <!-- /wp:quote --> <!-- wp:table {"hasFixedLayout":false} --> <figure class="wp-block-table"><table><thead><tr><th>JERSEY</th><th>NAME</th><th>HEIGHT</th><th>SCHOOL</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>2</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1834842' first='Michael' last='Fisch']</td><td>6'4"</td><td>Father Ryan</td></tr><tr><td><strong>3</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1901670' first='Jake' last='Harney']</td><td>5'10"</td><td>Battle Ground Academy</td></tr><tr><td><strong>4</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1911257' first='Hudson' last='McKnight']</td><td>6'2"</td><td>Brentwood</td></tr><tr><td><strong>5</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1923548' first='Jackson' last='McCutcheon']</td><td>5'10"</td><td>Brentwood</td></tr><tr><td><strong>8</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2817948' first='Lawson' last='Gillispie']</td><td>6'4"</td><td>Battle Ground Academy</td></tr><tr><td><strong>10</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2436043' first='Hart' last='Weatherford']</td><td>6'4"</td><td>M.B.A.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>11</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1946924' first='Chris' last='Johnson']</td><td>6'7"</td><td>Nolensville</td></tr><tr><td><strong>21</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2847447' first='David' last='Taft']</td><td>6'6"</td><td>M.B.A.</td></tr><tr><td>--</td><td>Coach Ben Wright</td><td></td><td></td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
