<p>2025 Hobbs guard Abraham Pena, who helped lead the Eagles to 26 wins during the 2024-25 season and a semifinals appearance in the Class 5A playoffs in March, committed to Eastern New Mexico this past weekend.</p>

<p>Prep Hoops New Mexico ranked Pena No. 12 overall in the 2025 class and the No. 3 point guard. </p>

<p>Pena was instrumental in leading Hobbs to the District 5A-4 championship as the Eagles beat Roswell in a winner-take-all playoff game. Whenm the state tournament began, Hobbs beat rival Las Cruces in the first round and Cleveland in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals at the Pit against eventual runner-up Sandia. </p>

<p>Pena is joining an Eastern New Mexico program that finished 18-11 overall, 13-9 in the Lone Star Conference in 2024-25.</p>

<p>Pena is the latest New Mexico product to join the ENMU program for the 2025-26 season. Previously, Highland standout shooter Jesus Licon and Lovington forward Kayle Covington signed with the Greyhounds in June. </p>
