Cali-Live Summer Finale 2027 Standouts

On Sunday July 20, PH NorCal was at the Cali-Live Summer Finale at Momentous Sports in Irvine CA. The NorCal Class of 2027 is proving to be a deep class of quality prospects who continue to raise their level of play.    Playing 17u, Sevilla is coming into his own as a playmaking guard in NorCal. An excellent ball handler with moves to create for himself. He's sharpened his point guard skills, with improved decision making, and vision actively looking to involve others. He can get aggressive looking to put points on the board in different ways. Penetration for assists, floaters, pull-ups, and 3-pointers.     A hard playing prospect who gives good effort on the defensive side of the ball. A good on ball defender, moves his feet, he's alert off ball, usually in help position. He has good upper body strength, and leverage to help defend in the post, he'll find a body to box out before going after rebounds. A good ball handler, passing up court and around the perimeter. He can hit the open 3.     He has a good size body, still growing with an improving skill set. He's a ball handler, passer, moves without the ball, had several back door cuts for points in traffic. He has hard drives to the basket along the perimeter. He he can hit the short jump shot, has the range to knock down 3's. He has good foot speed to defend, he's a rebounding guard.     A rising prospect in the NorCal 2027 Class. He has work to do but is on the right path. Standing 6'5 and growing. He can get hot putting up 3-pointers from the corners on the catch, and straight away at the top. He takes good care of the ball, will make the extra pass, but does look to shoot it. He has good length, moves his feet, will challenge shooters, gives good effort defending on the perimeter.     Does a solid job of running the offense in half-court sets, gets it up court at a good pace. He has ball handling, and vision, often spreads the ball around the court, finding cutters, and shooters along the perimeter, he spots his bigs around the basket. He hits the mid-range off the dribble, spots up for 3's. He handles ball pressure, passes early.     A fast guard with quality handles, and quick moves using change direction, and a burst that allows him to regularly get to his shot opportunities. He attacks from different angles, pulls up for quick jumpers. He has speed, and quick twitch to use on both sides of the ball.     A quality combo guard from Liberty in Bakersfield. He averaged 13ppg, with his high school team. It was our first look at Hanson at this event. He didn't hesitate to make his presence felt upon entering the contest. He has the ability to put points on the board. Standing 5'9 with a solid body. He'll use his dribble to get to his spots for good lift on mid range jumpers, and 3-pointers. He gets into the paint, handles contact. He'll make the extra pass.
