2028 player rankings: Watch out

There's no disputing that.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But, there are prospects in the class people should keep an eye on once the 2025 high school season gets going.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's who to watch out for:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2194623' first='Miles' last='Alexander'], Cannon County: The 6-foot-0 point guard sits at No. 10. Alexander is a gifted player. He knows how to play with pace. Alexander is twitchy enough to create separation to get past his defender. He can make shots from the perimeter. Alexander is a good ball handler and passer. He doesn't have the offers like [player_tooltip player_id='2194475' first='Braylon' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2194605' first='Cadence' last='Collins']. Alexander is gradually getting attention from college coaches. With his talent, the offers will come at some point.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2795834' first='Carson' last='Crump'], St. George's: Crump checks in at No. 20. He's a gritty point guard that can affect the game multiple ways. Crump is a good ball handler, efficient scorer, hard worker, facilitator, and a high energy kid. He doesn't have to lead the team in scoring to be effective. Crump is a winner and will do a list of things to help his team win games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2195034' first='Cole' last='J. Amonett'], Pickett County: Amonett could be one of the best shooters in the class. He a quick release and good shooting form. The 6-2 guard currently ranks No. 25 in the class. Amonett moves well without the basketball. He doesn't need a lot of dribbles to get to his spots. Amonett takes a lot of quality shots. As a freshman, he shot 40 percent from 3-point range while averaging 12 points per game. Amonett also performed well for the [program_tooltip program_id='2078775' first='Tennessee' last='Tigers'] 15U team over the course of the spring and summer. I expect a productive sophomore season from Amonett.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2610390' first='Carter' last='Cox'], Jo Byrns: Cox and Amonett could dual it out for the “best shooter” crown. Cox has great size early on (6-5). He knows how to finish through contact at the rim. Cox has the frame to take the physicality near the rim. He's a respectable ball handler. Cox can score from different areas on the court. He's a prospect that could make a huge leap before next AAU season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2694838' first='Jamarion' last='Chapman'], Christian Brothers: Chapman sits right inside the top 25 at No. 24. The 6-0 guard showed promise last season at Memphis University School. Now, he will play for the Purple Wave, and they will need him with senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1763152' first='BJ' last='Brown'] sidelined with a lower body injury. Chapman is efficient from 17-feet out and takes a lot of quality shots. He should flourish under head coach Brad Luckett and a Christian Brothers program that has history of guards having success.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
