Section-7 Qualifier Stock Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>June 17-18 I watched the third ever&nbsp;<strong>Section-7 Qualifier</strong>. There were 96 teams in 6 pools of 16 teams each.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6 winners advanced to the official&nbsp;<strong>Section-7</strong>&nbsp;June 20-22 versus some of the top teams on the West Coast.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched a bunch of full and half of some of the games. I obviously did not watch every team and when I watched, I am basing it on that performance and on the teams success combined.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congrats to&nbsp;<strong>Arcadia, Centennial, Chaparral, Cienega, Dysart &amp; Salpointe Catholic&nbsp;</strong>for earning spots into the weekends Section-7 Tournament.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here are 8 Stock Risers</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2249646' first='Talan' last='Speir'] <strong>Benjamin Franklin (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Speir is one of those players that the more you see him, you like him more and more. He is one of the more athletic guards and defends his position at a high level. He shoots it from both levels and gets to the basket easily with his bounce and burst.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2784885' first='Owen' last='Brackmann'] <strong>Horizon </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The bigger forward has had a good spring and summer. He is becoming a more balanced player from inside and out will flush it down on the break, hit the three and defend multiple positions. His best basketball is ahead of him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2427680' first='Conner' last='Tefteller'] <strong>Campo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another who has played well recently is Conner. He showed he can control a game with his pinpoint passing and pace. He will find teammates in stride but has been scoring it from deep and getting to the basket with his speed with the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2734925' first='Jayson' last='Paulo'] <strong>Eastmark </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A forward who plays all three positions up front and defends all three as well. He is very versatile to score from the perimeter with a better looking stroke and works inside well with a nice touch around the rim. He rebounds well and runs the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1323297' first='Kaleo' last='Mills'] <strong>Paradise Honors </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The long wing with size seems to be finding his groove. He is slowly polishing up his skill from the three point line and can take a few steps and get to the basket. He rebounds well and the offense seems like they will go through him during stretches of games. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1596641' first='Damien' last='Tillman'] <strong>Dysart</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized guard is handling the ball better and the guard can play on the ball more. He still shoots it well from the three point line and can pull-up from mid to the three point line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2674196' first='Kaleb' last='Bowen'] <strong>Mountain Ridge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A taller wing forward with elite size combined with athleticism and budding skill. He shows you flashes of brilliance in every game and moves a little differently with a graceful gait. He rebounds well and he looks to breakout this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2280481' first='Cameron' last='Connell'] <strong>Chaparral </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A skilled sharp shooting guard had a big weekend. He shoots the ball so easily off the catch from the three point line. He is very consistent with a compact stroke on every look. He stays in motion off the ball and can also make a play for others and get to the basket plus scores it on the break. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
