I was able to catch some up north action last week. At 1 event, I really wanted to focus on 1 team in particular - Benzie Central. It's an intriguing team with tough veteran leaders, shooters and young talent that will be an instant impact. I'm going to give you 3 players that really stood out when I watched Benzie Central play.

Zickert has been testing himself with an A+ schedule with the Midwest Stampede North team. He's seen top talent from all over the midwest and you can see that it has slowed the game down for him moving to high school ball. Zickert has the ability to touch paint off the drive and make plays from there. He looked really good when he hit 2 feet in the lane and made good decisions with the ball as to whether to kick or finish. Zickert started to recognize when or if there was a double lane and attacked it when he saw it. This young man looks prepared for a huge senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2610290' first='Carson' last='Case'] will have a huge impact on the success that Benzie Central sees this coming high school season. He's a natural wing that showed off a pretty jumper. Case has definite 3 point range from corner to corner and he looked especially comfortable off the catch. Benzie Central is a smaller team this season so I'd imagine Case will be counted on to crash the glass. He's one of their bigger players and they will need him to be versatile on both ends of the floor. From watching Case play, I think he's up for the challenge.

Wilson is a no doubt instant impact addition to the Benzie Central team. This young man can flat out fill it up from behind the arc. Wilson can shoot off the catch, but is probably more impressive in the way that he can find or create looks from deep. He showed that he could keep balance working off the dribble and creating space. Wilson even showed the ability to walk into a triple bringing the ball up the floor. Not to mention, he has volleyball line type range so has to be constantly accounted for by the defense.
