Oklahoma State Tournament: 13U Championship Standouts

The future of basketball was on full display at the Prep Hoops Oklahoma State Tournament, as the 13U, 14U, and 15U divisions delivered a weekend filled with high-level talent, energy, and breakout performances. From emerging floor generals and shot-making wings to high-motor bigs anchoring the paint, the young prospects in the 2028–2030 classes showed flashes of brilliance well beyond their years. Always played off two feet, allowing him to use pivots, fakes, and up-and-under finishes with great balance and control. Williams absorbed contact and still found ways to score, consistently converting tough buckets in traffic. His natural touch, combined with instinctive counters and misdirection, hinted at a polished scorer in the making. A high-IQ player with a knack for finishing around the basket.     A winning player in every sense, he thrived on doing the little things and embraced the dirty work. From diving on the floor for loose balls to setting timely screens and crashing the boards, Johnson impacted the game in every area that doesn't always show up on the stat sheet. Defensively, he disrupted passing lanes and used his length to deter shots without fouling. His physicality and court awareness made him a reliable interior presence despite often being undersized for the role he took on. His shooting form was smooth, repeatable, and efficient, making him a consistent threat from beyond the arc. A rhythm shooter who spaced the floor and punished defenses that sagged off.     Dominant presence on the glass. Hesse established himself early by setting the tone with toughness and positioning. He consistently boxed out and attacked rebounds, often requiring multiple defenders to keep him contained. His physicality gave his team extra possessions, and his motor on the boards helped control the pace and momentum of the game.     An intense competitor with a relentless motor. Brown outworked his man every possession, consistently applying pressure with the ball in his hands. He broke defenders down in isolation using a tight right-handed handle, showcasing in-and-out moves and shoulder shakes to keep defenders off balance. His aggressive downhill mentality got him to the free-throw line, where he excelled at drawing contact and finishing through physicality. Gritty and fearless, he brought toughness to the floor on every touch.
