It is summer in the Dakotas and PHD is looking back at the spring to talk about improved ballers.

As a basketball fan, rube, and enthusiast, I always want to know who has improved their game. That is what we are looking at today! We have ballers who improved during the spring club season and players that we should keep an eye on this summer.

PHD wanted to give shout-outs to players who improved, worked hard, and put in the time to better themselves. PHD is expecting a productive summer from these players.

[player_tooltip player_id='2857169' first='Brody' last='Weigel'] |6'1 G| (2026) Bismarck Legacy/SSA ND 17U Black

He has really developed into an all-around player these past few months. Weigel is scoring at all three levels and is hooping with high confidence. Coach Moormann says "It's been really cool to see him take over as a vocal leader for this team!"

[player_tooltip player_id='2858491' first='Bryer' last='Mattern'] (2029) |5'10 G| Bismarck Century/SSA ND 14U West & [player_tooltip player_id='2413186' first='Drew' last='Glasser'] (2029) |5'10 G| Dickinson/SSA ND 14U West

Bryer and Drew really shot the ball well from the perimeter this spring, I would say their shooting has improved. They are doing a nice job within the offensive scheme of taking what the defense gives them. Mettern and Glasser are smart, skilled, clever, and timely. There is no question that they know the game well as both of their fathers are head coaches in the WDA. They are in the gym often!

[player_tooltip player_id='2858384' first='Garin' last='Dykema'] (2029) |6'1 G/SF| Bismarck Legacy/SSA ND 14U West

He is doing good work on the offensive and defensive glass. Dykema is an improved rebounder and his production has been impressive. Garin can also score his fair share of points on a well-balanced team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347908' first='Dean' last='Miller'] (2027) |6'6 C| Grand Forks Red River/SSA ND 16U White

Dean has made great strides in finishing around the rim. He has become a very consistent finisher through & after contact and has established a knack for finding open space around his teammates' drives. Miller moves well without the ball and he changes the game with his lenght/size. RR is excited about his future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1531064' first='Jackson' last='Barth'] |6'5 PF| (2026) St. Mary's/SSA ND 17U Black

Barth started the club season not really knowing what his role on the team would be. Jackson has really bought into his role, which is defending BIGs, rebounding, and providing offense on the block. This Saint will put up serious points in the high school season and will be one of the top forwards in the WDA. Barth is an unselfish and willing teammate who continues to improve his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2408486' first='Sammy' last='Hill'] (2028) |6'3 F| Bismarck Century/Pack 15U

He started the spring as a role player to a player who is almost always on the floor. Sammy just gets better and better. After a couple of tournaments, you could tell that Hill had flipped the switch and had changed for the good. He is starting to open up the floor with his shooting range, is crush on the boards, and is using his size wisely.

[player_tooltip player_id='2409449' first='Sonny' last='Alberts'] (2028) |6'6 F| Four Winds-Minnewaukan/Pack 15U

Sonny has really come out of his shell & is becoming a force on both ends of the floor. It seems like his confidence had shot up and his rebounding continues to improve. I like his footwork, versatile finishing, passing, middy game, and soft shot from 3-point land.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548370' first='Trason' last='Terry'] (2028) |6'1 G| St. Mary's/Pack 15U

His confidence continues to improve and his numbers/production are on an upward trend. Terry started the spring season as a player who hung out on the wing and hit triples. Now he is an all-around scorer who is making things happen off the bounce. Trason's double-moves have been impressive and I like is creative finishing. His runner/floater is also noteworthy. Terry and Austin have proven themselves as a dynamic duo for Pack, I can't wait to watch them again at Prep Hoops 2K25!

[player_tooltip player_id='1542346' first='Zakai' last='Harildstad'] (2027) |6'0 G| Bismarck Century/SSA ND 16U White

This spring, Zakai has upgraded his scoring ability. He has been able to get his defender on his hip and finish around the basket very well, along with hitting triples at a more consistent clip. Harildstad has turned himself into a versatile scoring weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1418037' first='Zavion' last='Harildstad'] (2026) |6'3 F| Bismarck Century/SSA ND 17U Black

Z is the type of player every coach wants on their team. He happily takes whatever role his team needs him to play. Harildstad will do whatever it takes to help the team win. Z's toughness, communication on both ends, versatility on offense, and court awareness set him apart from many other players. If Zavion continues to improve at the rate he is, this Pat will have many options at the next level.
