The final of three events at LakePoint, one for girls and two for the boys, was this past weekend, as Georgia welcomed in regional teams from the surrounding states and beyond.

The matchups produced some entertaining basketball and some imposing big men, doing their fair share of swatting and dunking.

2028 Jordan Fisher was certainly garnering plenty of attention, but it was hard to miss Gaskins, a gliding rim runner who looked to be around 6-foot-9 or so (he was not in the media roster packet). Did some close-in finishing and was a rim protector for sure, and just an incoming freshman, it's easy to see why he is a riser on a ton of radars playing alongside older brother Caleb for the Explorers.

Tegra Makabu | Center | Northside Christian | Florida | 2026

Big and strong, it seems head coach and former UF star Mareese Speights has had an impact on him for sure. A power dunker in the Shaq mold, though just 6-foot-8 and therefore considered small for a post by today's standards. He looks comfortable and confident, with good feet, and he will run the floor looking for trail chances. Good defender both in the post and up at the rim.

Kaiden Smith | Center | Second Baptist | Texas | 2028

Still so young, but you can see the post IQ he has, the understanding to play off of the very solid guards Second Baptist has available, and so he was in good position to contribute from 15 feet and in. Be interesting at 6-foot-8 already when he adds bulk to a somewhat soft frame, but the intent is there, the fight is there, and I was really impressed with the Second Baptist program as a whole.

Jackson Sheffield | Center | Hoover | Alabama | 2026

Very busy court with coaches looking on when Hoover took on Greenforest (GA), as the in-state Eagles have their own bastion of bigs as usual to drool over, but it seemed a good many were on hand to see the 6-foot-10 Sheffield. A behemoth of a guy for the high school ranks, he muscled his way through several of the Greenforest bigs as they switched off on him. Nice feet and a litany of moves in close made him a handful to deal with, and as for guarding the rim, the Greenforest guards had some success, but everything was contested.

Isaiah Atkins | Center | Boiling Springs | South Carolina | 2026

Plays a lot inside for a Boling Springs team that doesn't have a lot of size outside of the 6-foot-9 senior. But when he stepped away, he showed shooting touch out to the arc, always a valuable tool at that size. On the interior, he was fleet-footed, lean but strong and able to play up through contact for the dunk or the hopp and harm. Saw him twice Saturday and he was consistently solid in both games, also a fine trait in the tool kit.
