It's June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. I was in Florence, South Carolina, on Tuesday and Wednesday for the annual Francis Marion Team Camp. One of the boxes I was looking for prospects to check was their work ethic, particularly with Forwards. These five guys did just that, check them out:

First up on my list of stand-out Forwards is [player_tooltip player_id='2573720' first='Taveion' last='Scott']. I was impressed with Scott this weekend in his return and there were no signs of a prior leg injury that kept him out most of the Spring. Taveion is asked to do a lot in the Goose Creek system - anything from perimeter passing to full-court pressing. He also showcased his strong power dribble, bounce off two, activity on the offensive glass, off-ball defensive help, and transition effort. Scott went for 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in a matchup with Westminster Catawba on Day Two.

Wilson was a key piece in Loris' dominant win over Cheraw to open the camp. He was a matchup nightmare for the Braves, pairing brute-force physicals with a hard-working motor. Wilson is a two-sport athlete who brings over strength, sound footwork, and lots of competitiveness from the football field. However, Jamarius also has some touch and skill. He is a very good passer both around bodies in the post and with long-outlet passes. In the big win, Wilson put up 8 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block.

[player_tooltip player_id='2881108' first='Jari' last='Ford'] might not be as physically gifted as the first two names in this list, but he is just as hard of a worker and extremely skilled. Jari likes to set up shop in the paint where he will work hard for positioning or Barkley dribble to get closer to the rim. Ford is also a capable jump shooter from 15 feet which makes him an option to pop or roll after setting a screen. Jari battles through contact well and can find a teammate when they cut to the basket. Ford had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in a win over Legion Collegiate.

Next up is an intriguing prospect from Marlboro County. Isaiah did a little bit of everything from his Forward position including knocking down threes, handling the ball, cleaning the glass, and protecting the rim. Whitner has good size and athleticism but isn't a great finisher yet. He is a pretty dependable ball handler, however, and often had it in his hands against the North Myrtle Beach press. Isaiah was active on defense both in passing lanes and blocking shots, including an impressive chase-down block to save two points. Whitner tallied 17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 steals in Game Two.

Rounding out the list of Forwards With Motors is Westminster Catawba's Alex McIlwain. Alex had two solid games for his team on Wednesday putting up 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists vs Goose Creek and 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists vs Crestwood. McIlwain is a knockdown three-point shooter who seemed to hit big shots when his team needed them in both games. He was also very active on the offensive glass with several put-back layups. Drummond is a good athlete but he will finish strong with two hands around bigs.
