Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the most explosive players that we watched at the Midwest Showcase in Kansas City. These young men were attacking the rim and throwing down dunks, but they also have game to go along with their athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617714' first='Antonio' last='Burnett'] (Lee's Summit North): A 6'4' 2028 wing who is one of the top young prospects in the Kansas City area. He is an electric athlete who plays above the rim for slam dunks while also swooping into the lane for layups. He is very tenacious when he is attacking the basket or the offensive boards. He was also hitting the open 3-pointer from the corner.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2536477' first='Gary' last='Johnson'] (St Mary's): The 6'4" 2026 forward is arguably the most explosive athlete in the state. When he rises above the rim to throw down dunks, everyone in the building knows about it. He throws them down off alley oops, tip dunks and in transition. He also uses his quickness to turn and face on the catch and beat defenders on the drive.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2536499' first='Cha'ion' last='Crump'] (Battle): The 6'4" 2026 guard is the most athletic guard in the Mid-Missouri area. In addition to his ability to play above the rim, he is also a three-level scorer on the offensive end. He has a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range and he can create his own shot off the bouce.

*******

[player_tooltip player_id='2090498' first='Kain' last='McCaskill'] (Vashon): The 6'2" 2026 combo guard showcased his elite athleticism as he went coast to coast to throw down some impressive dunks in the transition game. He was also very good at getting downhill and getting buckets on twisting drives and scoring at the rim with either hand. He has a tremendous burst and first step to get by defenders.

*******

[player_tooltip player_id='2334905' first='Gassim' last='Toure'] (Principia): The 6'3" 2027 point guard is as athletic as anyone who plays his position. He is constantly probing the defense for open lanes and as soon as he sees one to his liking, he's getting to the rim and throwing one down on top of a defender's head. He's also improved his perimeter shooting from 3-point range, which has made him more difficult to defend.

********

Aidan O'Haire (Francis Howell): A 6'4' 2026 guard who really plays a dynamic game with a strong motor. When he gets the ball, he stays on the attack and he will throw down a dunk on a non-suspecting defender. He can also score around the rim through contact. His mid-range game is solid and he can also knock down 3-pointers if he's given a step.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2759933' first='Javon' last='Washington'] (Park Hill): A 6'5" 2026 forward who has good length and explosive athleticism. He's quite capable of catching the ball on the perimeter and beating defenders with a quick first step, which gets his to the rim for a throw down. He has an active motor and he runs the court well. He should be primed to have an excellent senior year.
