In Saturday's action of the BCAT Boys Hoopfest, the rising seniors stood out on the hardwood floor. I was on deck at the TOA Sports Performance Center.

Here are the rising seniors who stood out:

[player_tooltip player_id='2439013' first='Cutter' last='Sisk'], Beech: It's been a minute since the last time I saw Sisk in person. But on Saturday morning, the 6-foot-6 forward had his way against a talented Maryville team with size of its own in [player_tooltip player_id='1787950' first='Luke' last='Sigmund']. Sisk scored with his back to the basket, got key rebounds, and got his team in its offense. The Middle Tennessee bruiser pushed the basketball in transition. Sisk is active on both ends. His value just went up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2139567' first='Avery' last='Coles'], White-House Heritage: Coles is 7-0 now. He recently just found out. I recently just found out. Coles is another prospect that had a good two-day showing. He has good footwork. Coles knows how to play with his back to the basket. He's unselfish, sees the floor well enough to make the right pass and can space the floor with his shooting ability. Coles is going to play Division 1 basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1658056' first='Parker' last='Pounds'], Briarcrest: The 6-5 shooting guard shot the ball well for the Saints to go 1-1 on Saturday. In a loss against Brentwood Academy, Pounds got hot late, scoring 11 of his 16 points in the 4th to help Briarcrest rally from a double-digit deficit. In a win over Huntsville (AL), the sniper finished with 23 points. Pounds got reps at point guard. He needed a day to show he can handle ball pressure and deliver in close games. Pounds did both.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194624' first='Eli' last='Brown'], Brentwood Academy: Brown is a solid upgrade to the Eagles' backcourt. He gives the team another ball handler and scorer to pair alongside rising junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade']. Brown can make shots from the perimeter. He's an efficient scorer. Brentwood Academy could make the Division II-AA Boys State Tournament in the 2025 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2358309' first='Jonathan' last='Woodlee'], Maryville: The 6-2 point guard showed one key element of his game on Saturday morning: He knows when to take advantage of a mismatch. Against Beech, Woodlee would position himself each time on the block when he had a smaller defender guarding him. He used his bigger frame to score over the top of the defender. That's something a coach can't teach his player. He has to know when he has the advantage. Woodlee is a monopoly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1947455' first='Peyton' last='Applegate'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1943896' first='Nickalai' last='Anderson'], Providence Christian Academy: The duo of Applegate and Anderson will have the defending DII-A Boys' state champs viable in 2025. They play well off one another. Applegate knows how to finish at the rim. He knows how to play with his back to the basket. If the shot isn't there, Applegate won't force it. He's going to look for Anderson, a 6-7 wing that can make shots from the perimeter. He's another prospect that's not going to force shots. A lot of Anderson's shots are good ones.

Side note: [player_tooltip player_id='2367403' first='Aiden' last='Bolden'] will not be back with PCA in 2025. [player_tooltip player_id='1659513' first='Christopher' last='Washington Jr.'], as of right now, is expected to be back. If so, the Lions will, once again, be the early favorite to win it all.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560719' first='Trey' last='Pearson'], Pope John Paul II: Big time players make big time plays. That's what Pearson did against a talented Chattanooga Prep program that has won the last two Division I Class A Boys' state titles. The Knights were down 53-50 with under 20 seconds to go in the contest. The Sentinels smothered sharp shooter [player_tooltip player_id='1578715' first='Osby' last='Cavin'], refusing to give him any space. That left Pearson searching for a great look. Despite two defenders being in his proximity, Pearson rose up from the right wing and dropped in a key 3 while being fouled. He made the free throw to make the final score 54-53. It isn't unusual for Pearson to make key plays. He's done it before. It's the norm for the best point guard in the 2026 class.
