While many members of the Class of 2025 have settled on their college destinations, [player_tooltip player_id='1368243' first='Jason' last='Grady'] is still sorting things out. The sweet-shooting 6-foot-5 forward from Westview is looking at all options after a stellar senior season, one where he earned a spot on the prestigious Team Oregon squad for the Northwest Shootout, Oregon vs. Washington game. It's a contest where he ended up leading his team in scoring, and while Oregon eventually lost the contest it was an experience he'll never forget.

"Part of the reason to be on this team is just the competitive nature of it, and we're all really good basketball players, so that was the most fun part, just being able to compete every other day or so throughout the practices, and in this game play high-level competition," Grady said. "It's just preparation, and I played well. I'll play well again, and that's just how it goes."

Being named to the squad was a reward for an incredible 2024-25 season, a year where Grady bounced back from missing his entire junior year due to injury and averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists on his way to earning co-Player of the Year honors in the Metro League. In addition to the individual accolades, he helped lead the Wildcats to the 6A state tournament for the first time under head coach Mike Wolf's tenure.

"I'm appreciative of every opportunity that we get," Grady said. "Every game that we get, part of the reason to win is to keep playing, and although it wasn't the ending we wanted, only getting fifth in state, we were able to play from the start of the season to the end of the season, and not many teams got to be able to do that, so that was a great opportunity. I just tried to be the best leader that I can, and although the injury sucked, it taught me a few things that helped me on the basketball court with being a leader on the team, and really just being appreciative of each moment that we get."

The task for Grady now is to figure out what's next. Young for his grade, he's considering prep school as well as heading directly to college via the junior college route. He's talking to coaches and evaluating all the possibilities.

"I'm kind of looking for and keeping my opportunities open," Grady said. "I'm going on a few visits, and we'll see what happens. Prep school has the advantage of not taking a year off of college and if the new Juco route stands, we get more eligibility. Mainly I'm just looking for development so those two options seem like the best ones to be able to go and play, and then work on my craft, get to a high level if possible."
