This article will examine the last bit of athletes that impressed me the previous weekend at the PH Grind Region Finals. Several guards were counted on for their respective programs to score, be a playmaker, and control the offense. These guards caught my eye with their impressive play in all three categories and will continue to have a surge of momentum moving forward.

Bridge was the top all around offensive player for Team CBE in their Sunday game against Young Bulls Association. Barrett showed he is super-efficient with his three-point stroke and can also get to the rim against tough contact, drawing multiple fouls to get him to the free throw line. Bridge also helped as one of the main playmakers for CBE as he was versatile off the pick and roll, keeping his bigs involved in the game and creating opportunities for himself to score the rock. In my opinion, Barrett was easily one of the top stock risers at this event and CBE will continue to look to him moving forward.

Pat was the key point guard for Be Someone Elite all weekend as they had a 5-0 record and claimed the 17u Gold championship. Mpouli was great at knowing where his teammates were on the floor at all times and used his speed and a variety of moves to get open drives to the rim for himself or dish out to an open shooter. Patrice can also shoot off the dribble and be effective from either the midrange or deep. Transferring to Summer Creek this year will only elevate his game, and I will be looking at him more for sure throughout the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2558840' first='Cayden' last='Hinderman-Close'] was perhaps the most clutch guard on the floor in [program_tooltip program_id='2829946' first='Magic' last='Basketball Club']'s 16u win over Texas Ballers Elite on Sunday afternoon. Cayden ran the offense with a set pace for his team to keep the advantage all game and was a shooting machine. Every time he had an open look at the basket, he would not hesitate to fire and probably hit about 5-6 three-point shots throughout the game. He also knew how to play good perimeter defense and not let the ballhandler get comfortable when in the half court setting.

Erik's shooting was his best attribute in the [program_tooltip program_id='2827745' first='Lake' last='Travis Elite'] blowout win over Texas Ballers Select. Schneider knows how to keep moving without the ball in his hands and never hesitates to be the open cutter to the rim or the one to shoot the ball in the big moment. Schneider had 9 long range bombs this game and was consistent in hitting his first five. Erik is a big-time stock riser after this weekend and should be on everyone's radars.

Jaxon was a great slasher and defender for [program_tooltip program_id='2829946' first='Magic' last='Basketball Club'] in their semifinals game on Sunday. Covin also knows how to hit shots with a calm and poised demeanor and his assist to turnover ratio really helped his team stay in the game. Covin is a smart decision maker, and I was impressed by his hustle and motor as he wasn't hesitant to put his body on the line for loose balls and secure extra chance opportunities and possessions.
