NOR CAL SPRING PREVIEW 15U Newcomers

May 10 PH NorCal was at Chabot College for the Spring Preview featuring prospects from Northern California. These prospects are playing well to start the Spring. Some played Varsity, others on the JV. With a good Spring and Summer they could end up on the Varsity. .    A balanced guard, excels in the open court. He has length, and handles to challenge defenders at the rim. His speed, and movement along with a crossover allows him to go by defenders along the perimeter. He can run point, his passing was on point, feeding the post and finding cutters. He has the length to help rebound. Good movement on defense.     He serves as the post go to player at the 15U level. He's big strong hard to contain in the post when going after points, and rebounds at this level. He made hard cuts across the lane, ran hard up the court. He will shoot open 3's. He has good movement and strength defending in the paint.     Speedy point guard with slick handles and moves to create space, and shot opportunities for himself and others. His speed pushing and passing up court was noticeable. He found his shooters spotting up around the perimeters, along with drive and dumps to feed the post. He can lock in on ball handlers putting pressure on bringing it up court.     He's a good size post prospect at the 15U level, still growing. Mettler showed good fundamentals as a post player. He had good passing from the post high and low, set solid screens before working his way down the block. He used his body, got wide making himself a target to get paint points in traffic. He got his rebounds, sent out good out let passes.     Standing 6'7, he was one of the better rebounders at the 15U level. He moved bodies, got himself in position for the ball. He converted multiple baskets getting the rebound, and going back up in traffic. He has good passing from the post high and low finding cutters, and shooters. He'll get his points in the paint using his body. He has some presence on the defensive side at the 15U level.     A good ball handling guard with good moves going up and down the court. He handles ball pressure, made good passes in transition and along the perimeter finding open mates. He used his shoulder to bump defenders off balance making his way in for paint points. He's active on the defensive side of the ball, got a few steals for easy buckets. Hit a couple of 3's from the top.     He has a solid body, good size for a guard, but plays small forward at the 15u level. He uses his body well inside fighting for rebounds, and scoring. He handled pretty well in transition pushing it with control, head up looking for open players for transition buckets. He handles on the perimeter, had a few good drives, fed the post. He has the size strength and foot speed to defend multiple positions at the 15u level.     A hard playing scrapper who didn't start but had impact on the court. He didn't mind diving for loose balls, battling for rebounds, and hustling up court filling lanes in transition ready for a tap in or put back. He scored inside. He defends hard on the perimeter, active inside.     Probably a pass first point guard that does a solid job of getting the ball into the forecourt, setting the offense keeping his dribble live. He had a couple of quick crossover dribbles getting into the paint finishing with floaters. He knocked down a 3ptr from the top. He has quickness on defense to run and trap up top. He'll go on the Watch List. He had good bounce and post entry passes.
