Believe it or not, June basketball is just right around the corner which means we will be right back into high school play as summer kicks off. Spring AAU is in full swing right now, but that does not mean we cannot look ahead to June where we will see our in-state prospects get back with their respective high school squads for a full month. For the next few weeks, we will look at some players for each class and position group as I give you my personal watch list for the month of June. Of course, every player we have in the state is a must-watch, but here are four small forwards in the 2026 class that you should focus on just a little bit more.

A small forward that is starting to make some waves based off his play this spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] has been [player_tooltip player_id='2477117' first='Dayton' last='Stephens']. Stephens, who plays for Lawrence Central, is a wing with a tremendous amount of upside in his game due to his physical tools that he brings to the court. We at Prep Hoops Indiana have seen him multiple times this spring and always come out impressed with his play in the lane, rebounding skills, athleticism, and overall versatility as a defender. Lawrence Central brings back a solid core and Stephens could be an impact player for them.

The 6-foot-5 wing out of Shelbyville has always had a good amount of upside as a player and this summer may be the time that upside finally blossoms. He has been rocking with [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] White 17u this spring and continued his strong play from his junior season for Shelbyville. He is a wing with great flow to his game and has a high ability to make shots around the rim with ease. He is coming off a 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds per game season and coming into the summer, he is expected to produce at an even higher rate. A very interesting prospect to watch in June.

One of the more intriguing players we have in our watch list series for June is Hamilton Southeastern small forward [player_tooltip player_id='1561009' first='Luke' last='Weemer']. He is coming off a strong junior year with Hamilton Southeastern where he showcased 11.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Royals. Coming into the spring AAU season, Weemer was a player we were going to have out eyes on and he has been impressive with [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] as expected. Weemer can stretch the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat, attack closeouts to his right, and creates mismatch problems both on the perimeter and around the basket.

Woodward is easily one of the top under-the-radar prospects we have in the in-state 2026 class and every time we get a chance to watch him, we at Prep Hoops Indiana seemingly come out more impressed with him. He had a pretty solid junior season with North Central averaging a little over 9.0 ppg and 3.4 rebound per game, which is where he started to a rise a bit as a prospect. The 6-foot-5 wing has done a good job of showing his versatility as a player for Indiana Basketball Club-Fine this summer being able to knock down threes and attack the lane hard. North Central has some production that they need filled next season and Woodward will have a more increased role, starting in June.
