"The Aggies had a very good season with some ups and downs, but managed to play our best basketball at tournament time.
PHD: Do you have any fun memories to share with us?

"The team defeated at the time #2 ranked undefeated North Border in the District Semifinals and the Park River gym was very loud, excited, and the team made some incredible plays down the stretch to force overtime and came out with a win. The coaches sprayed the team with water in the locker room following the exciting victory."

PHD: How did your team overcome adversity?

"With a new head coach, the Aggies spent most of the season learning a new system of play which had some ups and downs. Two late season injuries to our 6'4 center, and 6'3 forward had the team lacking size in the tournament, but still managed to play good basketball. The Aggies turned the ball over a little too much early in the season but started to clean it up much better at tournament time, so the growth of the entire team was impressive."

PHD: What are a few things your team improved on?

"The Aggies got much better on offense throughout the season, early in the year, shooting percentage and protecting the basketball was an issue but it improved greatly throughout the year. Also, the defense got better as a whole. We played some good half-court defense most of the season but our turnovers led to opponents getting too many easy baskets."

PHD: Who were some role players?

"Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2865839' first='Connor' last='Bernhoft'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2865837' first='Jaxon' last='Omdahl'] played huge roles during tournament time, they came off the bench and handled the ball as well as hit some big shots for us. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2865846' first='Luke' last='Shirek'] exploded in the post season with a few 20 point 10 rebound games. Early in the year he was sharing minutes but the bulk of the minutes became his with some injuries, and he took advantage of the opportunity."

PHD: Can you talk about your seniors?

"Tanner Schramm and [player_tooltip player_id='1558205' first='Nevin' last='Daley'] are the only two seniors on this year's squad. They provided leadership, were great teammates and played some very impactful minutes for us this season. Tanner Schramm had a couple of 20 points games and shot the ball very well. We will miss their presence at practice and leadership on game night next season."

PHD: Who are some up-and-comers to look out for?

"The Aggies return a very good group. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2804054' first='Jake' last='Solseng'] (All District 2), [player_tooltip player_id='2865843' first='Tucker' last='Omdahl'], [player_tooltip player_id='1557703' first='Brennan' last='Schramm'], [player_tooltip player_id='2734731' first='Isaac' last='Porter'], [player_tooltip player_id='2865846' first='Luke' last='Shirek'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2734732' first='Jace' last='Rosinski'] all return for their senior year. They all played big minutes this season, gained very valuable experiences and are preparing for a great season next year. Three Freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='2865839' first='Connor' last='Bernhoft'], [player_tooltip player_id='2865837' first='Jaxon' last='Omdahl'], and Eli Beneda will all play big minutes next season. They are a very talented group that can all handle the ball, shoot, pass, and play defense."

PHD: Who was your best defensive player?

"[player_tooltip player_id='2734732' first='Jace' last='Rosinski'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2865843' first='Tucker' last='Omdahl'] both played very good on ball defense this season. They have the speed to pressure guards and strength to prevent easy drives to the basket. They both have a motor and the desire to get stops."

PHD: Who was your top interior player?

"Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2734731' first='Isaac' last='Porter'] was playing very well before his injury. He has good footwork in the post and plays very good team defense. He led the team in rebounding. He is physical, and just needs to improve on his finishing. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2865846' first='Luke' last='Shirek'] really emerged at the end of the season. He is very quick, a shot blocker, great leaper, and is very good and playing in pick and roll and finishing around the rim."

PHD: Any last comments/thoughts on the season?

We had a great season of growth for all the players. Sickness and injury plagued us all season long, we did not play one game with everyone at 100%. I had kids step into roles on any given night and everyone did very well. Most of the year our scoring was spread out over 3-4 players in double figures, so we everyone was contributing. The kids competed every game and I see a fight that we have been lacking for a couple of years. The kids pushed each other in practice and we grew as a team every single day. We are graduating just one and adding a talented group of freshmen to the roster next year. Our only senior. Lee Hoff, played for the first time in 4 years and we were happy to have him back. He is a big strong, physical player and his work ethic was top notch. He expected more from the other players at practice and it showed in our physicality in the games. Defensively, Matthew Aune was our player who had some of the toughest matchups. His quickness and ability to read was key on the defensive end. Our versatility gave us some freedom on offense as well. [player_tooltip player_id='2759112' first='Kane' last='Rivinius'] played inside for us but he can shoot outside. Braydin Hazen and Rigo Silva are improved shooters and I look forward to seeing development with our summer work. [player_tooltip player_id='2378452' first='Kyler' last='Krank'] (All District Team) and [player_tooltip player_id='1542351' first='Chase' last='Christensen'] will be back as our point guards. Both are quick off the dribble and are confident shooters. Chase was not able to play due to an injury the majority of the season but when he returned, he made an impact right away. Tracy Aune, Teigan Kaylor, Camden Hoff, and [player_tooltip player_id='2694771' first='Kanyn' last='Dohrmann'] will be expected to contribute next season. As the season went on, they didn't get as much playing time as what I expected they would, however, when they did play, we did see their confidence progress. They are all athletic and with growth and maturity will be assets on both ends of the floor.
