Grind Region Finals: 16u Pure Shooters

At the Grind Region Finals, these players proved themselves as elite shooters, lighting up the scoreboard with consistency and confidence. Gavin was automatic off the catch, punishing defenders every time he found space. Weston Shields turned the corner into his personal shooting zone, draining threes with calm precision. Benjamin found his rhythm early and became a spark for Arnold Elite, hitting big shots whenever the team needed a lift. Myles thrived in transition, pulling up from deep and stretching the floor with deadly accuracy. Meanwhile, Hayden kept defenders off balance with his ability to score off the bounce, using his driving threat to create space for his smooth pull-up. Together, they showcased a clinic in perimeter shooting, making it clear they were among the top marksmen in the tournament. Gavin is a pure shooter off the catch, displaying a natural rhythm and confidence every time the ball finds his hands. Whether he's spotting up in the corner or coming off a screen, he gets into his shooting motion quickly and fluidly, making him a constant threat from deep. His mechanics are consistent, and he doesn't hesitate—once the pass is delivered, it's almost automatic. Defenders have to stay tight because if Gavin gets even a sliver of space, he's letting it fly—and more often than not, it's going in. Weston Shields is a deadeye shooter in the corner, the kind of player defenses can't afford to lose track of. His ability to consistently knock down threes from that spot makes him a reliable weapon in any offensive set. With quick footwork to get set and a smooth, compact release, Weston thrives on catch-and-shoot opportunities. Even under pressure, his composure and accuracy remain steady, turning the corner into his personal hot zone. When the ball swings his way, it's almost expected to end in three points. When Benjamin gets into the flow, he becomes a lethal shooter for Arnold Elite. His confidence grows with each touch, and once he finds his rhythm, he can heat up in a hurry. Whether he's pulling up in transition or spotting up off ball movement, Benjamin has the ability to knock down shots from all over the floor. His smooth stroke and quick release make him tough to guard when he's feeling it, and his energy often sparks runs for the team. When he's locked in, Benjamin isn't just a shooter—he's a momentum-shifter. Myles is a true sharpshooter, especially dangerous in transition from beyond the arc. As soon as the break is on, he sprints to his spots with purpose, ready to catch and fire without hesitation. His ability to set his feet quickly and release the ball in one smooth motion makes him a nightmare for defenses trying to recover. Myles thrives in those fast-paced moments, turning broken plays into buckets and momentum swings. When he's in rhythm on the break, that three-ball feels automatic—stretching the floor and putting constant pressure on opponents. Hayden is a deadeye shooter off the bounce, and his ability to get to the rim only makes his jumper more dangerous. Defenders are so worried about his explosive drives that they often give him just enough space to rise up—and he makes them pay. With a smooth, confident pull-up and a quick release, Hayden can stop on a dime and knock down shots from midrange or beyond the arc. His dual-threat game keeps defenses guessing, and once he finds his rhythm, he becomes nearly unguardable. The threat of his drive opens up his shot, and his shot punishes anyone who sags off.
