5/4/25: Insane quickness. Cassius helped his Memphis East team advance to the State Tournament in March. Everybody in Memphis knows Cassius can hoop, but this summer will unveil his prowess to the region at-large. Vaughn proved impossible to defend thanks to his elite first-step. Vaughn was best when he attacked with his dribble. The outside shot of Cassius is better than opponents realize because most players with his quickness and handles are not quite as advanced as shooters. Cassius is a true hooper, an offensive dynamo.

5/4/25: Team McKnatt performed wonderfully a year ago at this same event. Most of that 16u squad returned as Team McKnatt 17u. Starting point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2855390' first='Will' last='McCarter'] scored the event's first layup and collected the event's first defensive rebound. High energy. Great effort. [player_tooltip player_id='2855390' first='Will' last='McCarter'] plays high school for Ravenwood High.

5/5/25: Electric scorer. [player_tooltip player_id='1760995' first='Ronald' last='Towns III'] torched PSB Nashville, first hitting a pull-up three-pointer and then breaking off a baseline reverse layup. No PSB-Nashville guards could keep Towns III away from the lane and with his scoring burst to open the game Hoop City hopped ahead 21-7. Towns III is solid at either guard position. Wonderful slasher. He is coming off of a big year with Southwind High. Scout Courtney Smith made a good point. [player_tooltip player_id='1760995' first='Ronald' last='Towns III'] was able to play a lot more point guard this weekend as Jonathan Sanderson was sitting out in preparation for LIVE period. Towns III will need to be able to play point guard to increase his value to recruiters.

5/5/25: Labeling Kenzyous Fowler a point guard is possibly misguided. What is inarguable is that Kenzyous attacked the lane effectively against quick guards. He will likely see a lot more playing time at Antioch this next season after the Bears graduating a monster 2025 class.

5/5/25: Jack Floyd played with good speed. The young guard projects as a combo guard, possibly a point guard. Floyd is quick with the pass and does not need touches to make the right play. So many young players over-dribble or take too long to move the pill. Jack is not that kind of guard. He sees an advantageous situation and immediately gets the ball there.
