May 2nd-4th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched almost every team in 17U and 16U and some of the 15U teams to form a good opinion of the field.

Here are 7 Possible Impact Newcomers

[player_tooltip player_id='2435075' first='Lincoln' last='Cooper'] Liberty (Pictured)

The quickly growing guard is starting to put it together. He can score from all three levels with a nice shooting stroke from the three point line and he can throw it down on the break. He looks like he will give them quality minutes this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2856000' first='Akino' last='Drake'] Dobson

A scoring point guard can make plays for his teammates with good court vision but he is a natural scorer. He may lead the Mustangs in scoring this season with his shooting and quick drives to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2855887' first='Wisdom' last='Fode'] Bella Vista Prep

A powerful guard is a three level scorer and tough on-ball defender. He is a top athlete and will throw it down effortlessly on the break and in the half court set. He will also pull-up from mid to the three point line. His recruitment could spike up during the HS season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2434650' first='Ashton' last='Havvard'] Dysart

A strong wing is a point forward type that should impact the Demons next season. He makes plays for his teammates with advanced court vision and will score getting downhill. He is also a good perimeter shooter who can get hot from the three point line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2849881' first='Ryan' last='Hitchcock'] Estrella Foothills

A scoring lead guard looks to lead his Wolves high school team in scoring. He will score it with jumpers with range with a super quick release and has that inner confidence that the next shot is going in. He is elusive to free himself up to get a clean look at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2850600' first='A'Vari' last='Piper'] Westview

A high flying power forward should compliment their top scorer [player_tooltip player_id='2571727' first='Cartier' last='Flores']. His activity and athleticism allows him to get on the glass and score with put backs and top-tier finishes on the break with some eye popping dunks above the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2848790' first='Jaseer' last='Willis'] La Joya

Willis should also compliment the top scorer with [player_tooltip player_id='2697397' first='Isaiah' last='Carter'] for the Lobos. Jaseer is a tough scorer who can defend multiple positions. He can score with threes and downhill takes using his stronger frame.
