Bash in the Desert 15U Guard Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>May 2nd-4th I attended the annual&nbsp;<strong>Bash in the Desert</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched some of the 15U teams and here are the standouts I viewed. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the Guard Standouts I viewed on 15U:&nbsp;</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2442325' first='Ty' last='Barman'] Ray/ND (Bearstail 15U)&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The MVP of the 15U division per Anthony Fortuna who watched all the teams. He definitely backed it up with scoring from all three levels and defended multiple positions. He is a skilled bigger guard who is a great passer with a high feel for the game. He scores with cuts, deep threes, post ups and can throw it down easily on the break.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2773900' first='Colin' last='Burke'] Gilbert Chrsitian (Team Supreme 15)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true point guard who can score. He turns the corner and gets to the basket quickly with his speed with the ball. He will throw passes up the court and he actually hit a half-court three at the buzzer showing some range.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2855983' first='Kairo' last='Hamilton'] Carl Hayden (Team Supreme 15)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard with some speed and toughness. The lefty is skilled and gets buckets from all three levels. He is a natural shooter from mid to the three point line and is quick to the basket.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2452472' first='Zechariah' last='Haslerig'] Centennial (Elevate 15)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick scoring point guard who brings a two-way attitude to the court. He is a good on-ball defender and will move the ball. He is starting to stretch out a little and can score. He will fill it up with crossovers into a pull-up, mid-range jumpers and deep shots with a higher arc. He is a good passer who will slice thru a defense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2560322' first='KJ' last='Iten-Pauley'] Canyon View (Elevate 15)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized scoring point guard has a shifty handle and can drop some dimes with ease and will throw up the court passes. He is very elusive with the ball and hard to contain despite his size. His best skill is still his three point shooting.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2434722' first='Brady' last='Kerzmann'] St. Mary's/ND (Bearstail 15U)&nbsp;(Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another 8th grader was another standout of the 15U division. The combo guard plays the game from the neck up with a super high IQ. He shoots it effortlessly from the three point line and will score in transition. The lefty has a strap and just gets the game for a young player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2853887' first='Drake' last='Michael'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Peak 15 Regional)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick undersized combo guard will score in bunches. He will rattle in threes off the catch with ease. He will also score it with off the dribble takes to the basket thru some contact.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552789' first='Jacob' last='Ruiz'] Canyon View (Elevate 15)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard with a quick stroke from the three point line off the dribble. He is very crafty with the ball and can create his own offense. His IQ, feel and skill make his game go.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2828866' first='Wisdom' last='Woods'] Mesa Mountain View (Team Supreme 15)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard with a scorers mentality. He will score with off the dribble takes and catch and shoot threes with a nice looking stroke. He will hit the three or from mid off the pull but he can also create separation with a nice handle.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
