We revealed our updated 2028 rankings on Tuesday. Here are five New Additions to the rankings:

[player_tooltip player_id='2714613' first='Kaleb' last='Bowannie'], Hozho Academy: Hozho was edged out in the race for a Clas 2A tournament berth, but Bowannie displayed his talents by averaging over 8 points and 3 rebounds per game. In 2025-26, Hozho returns nearly every player on a roster that won 15 games this past season. It could be a big season for the Wolves.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839414' first='Dashon' last='Bynum'], Rio Rancho: Earning a spot in the rotation of a Class 5A state tournament-caliber team as a freshman is an impressive feat, something Bynum was able to accomplish. He averaged 6.6 points and 3.3 assists per game while averaging over 16 minutes with the varsity. Rio Rancho will have a new coach in 2025-26 when it returns four of its top five scorers from this past season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839393' first='Taivian' last='Callado'], Santa Fe Indian: The youngest of three basketball-playing Callado brothers, Taivian could be the best of the bunch. He scored 14 points in SFIS' 1st-round Class 3A state tournament victory over Cobre before adding 11 points in the Braves' upset of No. 1 seed Tohatchi in the quarterfinals. One of the top young players in northern New Mexico. Tragedy struck SFIS Thursday morning when head boys basketball coach Jason Abeyta and Assistant AD Nathaniel Abeyta were killed in an auto accident near El Rito, so the Braves will have a new head coach in 2025-26.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839406' first='Alex' last='Dominguez'], Hatch Valley: Because Hatch Valley struggled from a win-loss perspective this past season, the 6-foot-3 Dominguez's solid freshman campaign went largely unnoticed. He led the Bears in scoring (10.8) and rebounding (8.8). Emerged as one of the top young players in southern NM.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839420' first='Rhett' last='Smith'], Roy/Mosquero: Smith was a major contributor for the Blue in 2024-25, helping them win 22 games and reach the Class 1A quarterfinals. Smith appeared in every game, averaging 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. Promising talent. Roy/Mosquero should be a good team again in 2025-26.
